Hey Geoman...

Don't forget the "Sins of Charlie Pell and Danny
Ford."

Clemson is about as "renegade" as it gets.

Nope can't forget that. Really, every decent program has bad apples. But as a Canes fan I accept the fact that we'll always be labled as Thug-U and all that crap. That's fine. We all know the real Thug-U is now FAMU. Good lord man, 190 violations.

I'm sure I could do a google search and find plenty of wonderful things about Miami. Danny was never accused by the NCAA of any wrong doing, though he was investigated. Pell, however is the one that dicked us over. No excuses for that.

I can't believe you went to all that trouble. lol

Anyway, I just thought it was an interesting and humorous link. I am happy to have UM in the ACC and look forward to the trip to Coral Gables.

To Be Honest...

While Miami, may very well be thought of as "thug U"
A google search will discover that there program has
been "pretty clean" in the past few years.

Rolle's in the slammer, but you'll be hard-pressed
to find anything else on them, again, over the past few
years.

However, you will find Ohio State has had 15 locked-up
since Tressel arrived. Penn State has 7 players either
charged or disciplined by the University.

The bad thing for the 'Canes will be when they afmit
Williams. That will just allow people to bring up all the
crap from when Johnson and Erickson were operating
without any restraints.

NO SCHOOL is squeaky clean...But the public, at large,
could care less about what is going on at UTEP or
La-Monroe...Just the "Boys at the Top."

FAMU's violations involve not following the NCAA guidelines for academic eligibility. None have anything to do with felonious behavior nor recruitment of players with multiple priors nor assaults...things that the world has come to expect from Miami & FSU & Virginia Tech, and for which those institutions should be fined heavily.

Any respect I ever had for Miami was lost when they continued the recruitment of Willie Williams.

Oh yes, because setting off a fire extinguisher is a horrible criminal offense and he should be given the chair for it.

Let's get something straight. We don't care if you respect us or not. We don't care what you think of us. We don't care about anything you have to say about us, period. We will get bashed in the media which is fine. We've come to expect that. We don't care. We care about winning championships only. That's why we say "It's a Canes thing, you wouldn't understand".

And to Tigers, it's all in good fun. Football wouldn't nearly be as fun if it weren't for the trash talking. :)

Quote:The highly publicized problems in Gainesville brought to light Williams' troubled juvenile past, which escalated from lifting candy bars and toys to stealing $3,800 in stereo equipment.

I see you are ignoring the fact that he was on probation for a felony burglary conviction at the time he set off fire extinguishers doing $1,000 in damage to a hotel.

I see you are ignoring the fact that it was juvenile conviction and juvenile records are not (supposed to be) released to the public. But again, is setting off a fire extinguisher worth destroying the guy over? He has owned up to everything he has done wrong and faced his punishment for it. Setting off a fire extinguisher and hugging a woman is something I would hardly burn him at the stake for. And I find it interesting that at this time when Marcus Vick is suspended for driving drunk and accused of statutory rape and the animals at Colorado (where nothing seems to be happening anymore) and FIU (where some athlete is accused of attempted murder) we are choosing to focus on Willie Williams. Could it be the [Image: icon19.gif] on his chest?

And tarheelsben1, might not be original but that doesn't make it any less truthful.

Geo...

You will discover a great deal of "denial" around here,

A "holier than thou" attitude about their glorious
institutions. It is compounded by the fact, that
those same glorious institutions sold
out to "Florida State" and opted for the almighty
dollar.

It was Florida State that led the way for expansion.

i.e. "Expand and create a Title game or we're
gone." First two instittutions to climb on board
were Ga Tech and Clemson. The only two schools
in the league who have any type of a football
tradition. Yjrm the dominos began to fall...Chubby
at Maryland climbed on the "Nole train. Wake
Forest, who's stadium rivals 3 and 4A High Schools
in Florida...but not equal to 5 and 6A schools' stadiums,
and pathetic by NCAA standards, looked at all of
those empty seats and said..."Count us in"

At UVA...They quickly began to realize that the
Tobacco Road gang wasn't controlling this league
anymore...It was under the "influence" of the fella's
down in Tally. Amato, at NC State, whispered to the
school prez..."Honey, if we aren't for it...I'm looking
elsewhere."

They all said...Miami WON'T come in...FSU said
they WILL. (btw...welcome to the ACC)

Carolina and Duke are still pouting, but a dollar against
a donut..."They won't give back any of the money!"

These are pathetic Universities with ludicrous fans
that refuse to own up to the fact that their surface
morals are their own worst enemy.

They are as big a "two-face" as their school presidents.

Let's look at the Divisional Set-Up...No North-South
or East-West alignment. Florida State in 1 division
and Miami in the other. FSU and the 'Canes, at
least thru 2010 "will open against each other"

Why is that? "Ahhhh...to give us as much space
between the regular season match-up and the
league title game?" Divisions with no rhyme or
reason to them...Title game, all but sealed for Jax,
although Orlando is halfway between Miami and
Tally.

Clemson's OK. They have great, supportive fans,
who know their football. Tech, in real life, also
pretty decent group. (The one's here, for the most
part, are 'Carolina suck-ups...but at Dodd, their fans
are decent.

Can't tell you much about Wake and Duke football
fans..."There's never been any of them at the games!"

Maryland fans are like 'Gates..."Bad-asses at home and
wimps on the road."

Oh and by the way...Maryland is on probation for illegal
recruiting. Not us.

I'll admit that I haven't followed the Willie Williams situation as closely as others, but this statement tells me everything I need to know.

Most of us in the ACC care about more than just championships (although it's true that they're the ultimate goal on the field). This is what -- 'til now -- has set us apart from the SEC. Call it "holier than thou" or whatever you want, but we do care about doing things the right way in the ACC.

Now, that doesn't mean everything will always be squeaky clean. People make mistakes. But, the pattern of repeated "mistakes" at certain schools is sometimes hard to ignore.

Well when UM makes a mistake, let me know. Because since our probation we have been clean. Prove otherwise.

And PJ, I'm not about to come on here and start bashing schools (teams are a whole other matter :) ). Maybe they are elitist, I really don't care. We will beat them badly and they'll return the favor in BBall. They can say whatever they want.

G-Man...

You won't have to "bash" them...they'll do it
to U.

What's the word...

I think it's called "envy."

2 Years back...I "attempted" to furnish what would
be good information for the entire board.

ACC Expansion. You would have thought I had just
compared a Georgia Tech poster's...posing as a
Georgia fan...wife to a dead dog. (pity the dog)

Oh My...How upset they all were. How ludicrous
my words..."The ACC won't let in Miami" "Other
ACC teams won't follow FSU." "The ACC is about
more than money"

Then..."Depression set in." The Official Announcement.

It hadn't been that quiet since the dog's funeral.

Banning??? haha haha haha haha haha haha

Hell, I'm good for business. There ain't 10 people
posting now.

btw...If I send the money...You think we could get them
to mow the field at Groves before the game?

And let me be the first to "break the sad news"...

After the dismal recruiting season...Color Grobe gone
after this year.

They can talk all the smack they want (as I'm sure they will when BBall come around again). They're just going to have to get used to the annual beatings between September and November.
