Wake 38
State 24

Don't adjust your monitor settings...Wake is 2-0! Our next 2 games are at home vs. Purdue & East Carolina. We could be 4-0 going into a road game at Virginia!

It's a great day to be a Demon Deacon! :D

That is true, Terpy, but Wake beat Purdue last year in their house. I think we stand a good chance to do it at home too. :)

Prepare yourselves, Deacs, for a truly memorable season.

I don't think you'll beat Florida State, but wow! The way you manhandled us today, I think you are legitimately the conference's 2nd best team. I think the Pack will get better, but this is not the type of team I wanted our young DL to be facing in their second game...

It's kind of ironic, too. Last year, we were the only team to blow out Wake -- now Wake has handed us our first real waxing since the 2001 Tangerine Bowl. I think you'll be doing it to a few more teams along the way as well. Congrats!

Wow...thanks for the praise, UDC! I'm still astounded by how well Wake performed. I really thought we had a chance to win, but I never dreamed it would be as thorough as it was. Cotchery is a helluva player...does he ever drop a ball? Because he seems so automatic, is this why he seemed to be Rivers' #1 target on every pass play?

One thing has been omitted here...

Back in June or July...Lucy warned of this
possible upset.

Wrote that the Pack had fallen to the Deacs, the
last time they played in Wake's home opener.

She hit the nail on the head.

Believe me, that was in the back of my mind as I sat down in Groves stadium.

BTW, just as with Ericcson, I may have to scratch Groves from my attendance list. Three trips there = three State losses (I was going to go in '01, but I got sick. We barely pulled that one out).

Lucy - that's why he has earned the nickname Catchery 03-wink

Obviously the team enjoys your presence in the stadium...
