I think this is very interesting. We have a Sophmore who would go around 27th. I think that is pretty good considering he is placed directly behind Sr. POY Josh Howard.
What is up with the old diamond NSC when you click on his name?

I think Powell would go higher, and Howard won't. Why? Howard is too small for a SF, and too slow for a SG. Powell is a true PF, and young.

Not sure about linking gopack.com so here is their story. I tried to find another source but this was the best for now. I can't say I am surprised or that I blame him. I think he could use another year but apparently people in the big league want him! Good luck Josh ~ you will be missed.

Wolfpack Center Started All 31 Games Last Season
May 2, 2003
Raleigh, N.C. - Wolfpack center Josh Powell has announced that he will enter his name into the 2003 NBA draft. The sophomore started all 31 games for the Wolfpack last season, averaging 12.4 points and 27 minutes.
"I have decided to make myself eligible for the 2003 NBA draft," the Riverdale, Georgia, native said on Friday. "I am in good academic standing and will not retain an agent. Therefore, I will preserve my option of returning to NC State."
Powell averaged 19.3 points in 2002-03 postseason play, earning All-ACC Tournament honors. He averaged 5.3 rebounds for the season.
"We certainly wish Josh all the best as he pursues his NBA goals," said head coach Herb Sendek. "We will continue to provide him support as he 'tests the waters' and certainly will welcome his return if, in fact, he decides to withdraw from the draft."
