Did you feel any of that monster storm last night? I'm down in StPete, FL right now, not too far from you I think, and I can tell you we had one of the worst storms I've ever seen anywhere here last night. My mother's friend, who has been here for 27 years, said that was the worst one he'd ever seen. Hail was pounding the windows so hard water was coming thru them and the door, thunder was so bad it set off the fire alarm bringing the fire dept out. My mother lives right on an inlet of the gulf, but we couldn't even see the water it was so heavy. We could, however, see the Gulf water when lightning would strike and the water was unreal. Needless to say, my five year old son(5MAN) was petrified and I gotta tell you, even though I reassured him everything was alright, I was a bit unnerved myself. It was bad. I think they said we had 3 and a half inches alone last night.
Looks a little better today, though, although still cloudy.

Where exactly are you at in FL? I know you've told me before, but I was just wondering if you got to experience any of this? Mother Nature seems to follow me everywhere I go. Last season I went out to Los Angeles for a USC-Auburn football game, and there was an earthquake while I was there... And several years ago I went to visit some friends in Tallahassee, right before a hurricane showed up....can't remember the name of it, though.

I'm in Lutz, Florida (Hillsborough County). I'm about 5 miles from the Pasco County line. We got storms last night, but nothing like Largo, Bellair Bluffs and Temple Terrace did. I guess it was around 10 or 11 pm that the news people were flashing that warning last night about the really bad weather coming in. St. Pete (Pinellas County) always gets it worse than Tampa area does... guess cause they're right there on the gulf.

So when did you arrive in Florida 10MAN? I know this storm was in Mississippi a couple of days ago. I talked to my son in Alabama on Thursday evening and he was saying they were getting it then. We really needed this rain... but the hail and wind could have stayed away.

How long are ya going to be in my neck of the woods? Try not to get too sunburned :D

We arrived in Tampa Thursday afternoon, and aren't leaving until Monday. 04-bow Funny you mentioned that storm passing thru Miss the other day, because we drove right thru it at its peak power. We drove from Jackson to New Orleans to catch a flight to Tampa(sounds weird but trust me it's much easier), and on our way out of Jackson, there were people parked all along the side of I-55 too scared to drive. It was hard stuff, and then it followed us to St Pete. Goes back to that Mother Nature thing following me, I guess.

Saw a little bit of the FSU baseball game on the tube yesterday!! 03-wink
