But the real question is, "what is the real reason Nate likes Duke??" because they are winners?? probably...you don't need to know much because it's Duke...you don't need to know what support and team spirit is because when you're Duke, that's unnecessary. You don't need to know what you're talking about because if coach K picked them, they must be good. My guess is 4 years ago you were like "oh look, a good basketball team" and jumped on the band wagon. What is your association with Duke Nate?? Just wondering.

Why don't you just shut the hell up when you have NO IDEA what you're talking about?

MY ASSOCIATION WITH DUKE...

My mom and Dad went to Duke Divinity School.

Both work there now.

I was born in the middle of a Duke-Wake game...

My grandfather and my father were/are both Deans of Duke Divinity School.

Don't mean to sound arrogant, but you pushed me to it, but I know Grant Hill and his family fairly well.

My room looks something like this: Duke bedsheets, Duke pillows, Duke comforter, Duke Blue paint around my room, posters from the last 3 seasons on the wall, Duke border around the top of my room, Duke logos on my windows, a Duke lamp, a signed picture of Grant Hill and a lot of Duke clothing.

I know anything there is to know about any player on this year's team, including their hometown.

I have gone to every Duke home football game possible, and am an AVID Duke football fan. I can name every starter on our team from this year.

I have watched the Laettner "Legacy shot" dozens of times, just for the hell of it.

I've been to at least 5 home games since 97 (which is when I moved here).

IS THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU OR MUST I TAKE PICTURES OF MY ROOM?

BTW, I think we won the national championship in 91 and 92, went to the final four in 86, 89, 90, 91,92 and 94 ALL before 4 years ago.

I really don't think you want to challenge my passion for Duke University.

Fair enough. Do you have aspirations to attend Duke?

emme3334 Wrote:I'll challenge it with my passion for Georgia Tech. And since I hold my passion and pride for my school in highest regard, I'll stop here. One question though: Do you have aspirations to attend Duke? You didn't mention anything about school.
I will attend Duke in the class of 09. I already know what I wanna major in, what dorm I wanna live in (although it's not really up to me) and what graduate school I want to go to (also @ Duke). I will go there... It's only a matter of time.

I'm in no position to judge your passion for GT, but I'd say that you must be one dedicated mofo if you care about GT as much as I do for Duke.

I wasn't challenging your passion...I am the last person to question passion, because like you, my room looks very similar. I was just wondering WHY you choose Duke, and now I know. It doesn't seem you are old enough to go to Duke, so i was wondering where this passion came from. I think we just found the one thing that the two of us have in common...our passion for our team. Like you I know every stat there is to know about every player on the team. I've been to every home game, and will be going to some away games. Let's please just drop this, see what happens on the hard wood. At least let us get into conference play before we start completely ripping eachother's heads off.

Nice attempt at a recovery. You know damn well you thought you were gonna catch me as a bandwagon fan and you got busted. It's as simple as that.

This post is "just asking why I chose Duke"? That is a pile of manure for you.

Hell, I'm glad to keep going. Dunno about ballgirl over there, though.

It seems she wants peace now that her feeble attempt to uncover my bandwagon fandom of Duke struck out badly.

I'll stop now at your request. The reason I take that so personally is because, going to a Chapel Hell high school, I hear enough **** about myself and Duke that I've grown pretty bitter about it.

OH MY GOD!!! THIS THREAD ISN'T TITLED "NATE'S BANDWAGON FANDOM!!" I'M NOT GOING TO ARGUE ABOUT THAT ANYMORE...YOU PROVED ME OTHERWISE. I'm going to act my age, which I understand is what you're doing, and stop and let my team prove themselves on the hard wood. You kids can go on forever, and you're only going in circles...I've realized this and unless you give me something new to argue about, i'm done until Wednesday.

Now THAT is a fan. No matter what team it is, I admire anybody that is as much of a die-hard as that.

I can say the same except for the paint part (old gold walls probably wouldn't look too hot ) I've got Tech basketballs, footballs, signed and unsigned posters from the last 6 years. I've got books, game programs, media guides, pictures with players (from Fan Photo Days). I've got a Tech helmet from the '70s, 2 FB jerseys, a baseball jersey...you name it, I've probably got it.

Hey...

We did our part...

Noles 80
Iowa 67

I know that Iowa almost lost to Drake the other night,
but we did win.

'Course then again...Last Year FSU lost to American Univ
and Western Carolina at home...BUT we beat DUKE at
home.

Anyway...

ACC is 1-0 vs the Big 10 courtesy of Florida State

Good job by the Noles. I don't know much about either team yet, but I thought Iowa would probably win.
