My problem with Earthlink started when I cancelled. I'd had Earthlink once, cancelled and went to broadband, moved apartments, went back to Earthlink.
I never got billed for my first account after it was cancelled. However, when I opened the second account, they started billing me for two accounts. Being the non-observant student I was, I didn't notice until I graduated, got a job and switched back to broadband.
After I cancelled the second account, I had a charge for service the next month. I called to ask what the deal was and they said it was for the first account. I explained that it had been cancelled
and had the confirmation number from cancelling (yeah, I'm kind of anal about such things) and they had no record of it being cancelled. I went back and checked and realized they'd been double charging me for about 6 months, called them again and got the same answer - "You never cancelled the first account, it's not in our computer."
Yeah, so Earthlink is on my poopie list too.
