Listened to most of the new Audioslave album - there's link to it off of their site. Doesn't strike me as good as the first, but I'll still end up buying it. Might be one of those things you have to listen to a couple of times, and I was only passively listening to it anyways.

How does it differ in sound from their first cd?

I was anticpating a more polished sound, just from them being together longer, and just as much strong guitars and bass lines. Just as intense vocals.

Ryan (not Bryan) Adams just put out a new cd. He's got a new band called the Cardinals. It's 2 discs, and harkens back to his pre electric days with Wiskeytown. It's a good listen, but his cd "Rock and Roll" was by far his best work to date. I'm also trying to locate Common's new cd. Not sure if it's out yet. He's by far the best hip hop has to offer. I won't call him a rapper, because that doesn't do him justice. Hell, it seems anyone can be a rapper these days. All it takes is a gimmick, a trademark, shoot, rap's really going downhill.... fast.

So true....so true...

I mean I remeber when Cypress Hill came out and they were original....then is less than 6mos everyone was copying their style.

I mean back in the day you used to have:

Ice Cube, Ice T, NWA, Easy E ...for your gangster jones
A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul... for your alternative jones
Public Enemy, X Clan ... for your political hardcore/message rap
Eric B and Rakim, Lords of the Underground ... et. all for you just regular stuff
ANd Beastie Boys, Kid N Play, 3rd Bass et a.. for your party/funny rhymes
2 Live Crew for your SEX RHYMES ( lol)

NOW EVERYONE is your sittin on dubs, smoking weed, iced out, gun toting, gangster.... WDF.
