Quote:Duke's Shavlik Randolph, a three-year letterwinner at the school, declared himself eligible for the 2005 NBA Draft that will be held on June 28 in New York City.
"I support Shavlik 100 percent," said Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Randolph averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots in 92 career games (36 starts) as a Blue Devil. He has a career field goal percentage of .506 (205-of-405). The Raleigh, N.C., native has been part of two ACC Championship teams (2003 and 2005) and one Final Four squad (2004) while at Duke.
Early entrants into the NBA Draft have until June 21 to remove their names from consideration to retain their collegiate eligibility.

What a moron. I hope he at least is planning on getting his degree. If not, enjoy working at McDonald's, Shav. Remember to smile and don't mess up my order! :roflol:

Hey! I posted this first...over in the Duke forum! I was scared to post it over here, but alas...
But yeah...I have no clue what he's thinking. He could've at least transferred to another school for more playing time. At the very least, it would seem as if he would want to prove the critics wrong by having a good season at Duke. The article didn't say anything about him signing with an agent, so maybe he'll come back to his senses.

That would be my best guess. He's putting his name in, and he can go to some of the camps and get a rating. But he'll probably end up coming back. That and he's gonna be buried on the bench with all the incoming freshmen, so tranfering for a year is kinda pointless.

Well, if he were to apply at McDonald's, he'd be a shoe in. On his resume, would be "2002 McDonald's All American." I forget who said it, maybe it was Greg Doyel over at cbssportsline.com, but the less time on the court Shav sees, the better for Duke.
