The thing about Illinios is that if Dee and Deron are off, teams can concentrate on their "soft" interior. But if you do that, Ill has Head and Powell there to counter. McBride is also a fine player. I hate that team a bunch, but I do respect them. They rightfully so deserve the #1 ranking. Of course, it's early.

But with 'ol Bruce at the helm their recruiting sure has suffered since Self left. That program is going downhill in the post DD era, IMO.

I agree with you on that, and even though soft on the inside, they recruited some bigger players to help.

Deep bench is always helpful especially when they can all shoot the "3".
