What is a 1 point safety?

Anybody see the Texas- Texas A&M game today? Texas scored a one point safety on an extra point. Anybody familiar with the rule?

If you block a PAT, and try to advance it, but get tackled in the end zone, it is ruled a 1 point safety.

Ya. Well, the scoreboard guys at the stadium put it on the board for the wrong team at first, so I'm sure that he didn't even know the rule :D

Neither had I. And neither had Coach Fran. I was on the field when it happened (my uncle had an extra press pass) and I heard his conversation with the ref...he had a few choice words :D
