Quote:Suspect finds bank is broke

Perhaps rule No. 1 in the bank robber's handbook should be, "Make sure the bank has money."
Doing so could have saved a Marietta man a trip to the Cobb County jail.
According to Kennesaw police, 38-year-old Michael Donald Marshall walked into the Bank of America at 2781 Cobb Parkway on Wednesday, announced that he had a gun and demanded $500 from tellers.
But the tellers were only there for training. The bank was in the final stages of construction and had no money.
"The tellers told the offender that the bank was not open for business and there is no money," said Kennesaw police spokesman Scott Luther.
Marshall left but didn't go far.
He was behind a column at the front of the building when police arrived.
"We're not sure if he was hanging out, hiding or attempting to leave," Luther said.
Marshall was charged with armed robbery, and during the investigation, detectives discovered an outstanding warrant for violating probation on a shoplifting charge.
 Crime just doesn't pay...

Okay-that crook was stupid as everything.
But...
why were the doors to a not-open bank doing unlocked?? As a veteran of the Banking world I can tell you the bank was slack in letting the guy in in the first place. Our doors were locked the very second the business day ended. Left your umbrella or glasses or something inside? Too bad-come back tomorrow during regular hours. Glad the crook was stupid and not in a shooting mood.
