Oh, and Annan was the one saying that the US should pay reparations, basically absolving the countries in Africa and his own family's role in the travesty. 2/3rds of slaves went to Central and South America. .....not the US.

Chapel Hill or Carrboro?

As far as hating people, I find that to be a waste of energy. Now I do hate ideas, policies, & rituals, but not the people. What kind of example am I to my children if I harbor hate towards other people just because they are different from myself in one way or another.

Now as far as the protesters that go to rallies, now that is a waste of time.

If you look in my sig, you see Bush holding up an ECU baseball Uni. When he made that visit (pre-911 I believe) the local media went nuts and covered it wall to wall. Of course their were some protesters there, and the media went and interviewed them. This one guy was protesting because his uncle was in prison. Protesting because his uncle was in prison. Protesting because his uncle was in prison for murder. Geez dude, yeah, that is Bush's fault!

Generally the protesters (from both sides) look like fools with nothing better to do with their time.

Thats merely because the Republican party is keeping the Democrats out of their rallys through thuggary and pre-screening.

So your excusing them for taking the sign from the little girl and tearing it up. So did the thuggery keep the girl and father (evidently Bush supporters) out as well?

I can add something:

The Democratic National Convention kept their protestors about a mile away behind concertina wire in areas called "Free Speech Zones".

The Republican National Convention did NOT hinder anyone's rights as protestors roamed the streets of NYC, often heckling delegates.

Which party abided by the Constitution? I've never effin HEARD of a "Free Speech Zone".

....as far a the little girl and her father, yeah. I am sure they posed as much threat as the lunatic that ran towards the VP to within 10 feet of him. James Brady might disagree with you about the seriousness of that situation.

Why did the girl have a Bush Cheney sign at an Edwards campaign stop? That doesn't make sense to me.

I can see the Republican commercials now ....

"If you elect Kerry, black people will run up and make your daughters cry" with this picture being shown.

This would go right in line with the revolving door of black convicts that daddy Bush used to win in 1988.

That was a Democratic rally, that man and his daughter should not have been there anyway. This is a bunch of BS!!!!

Yep, but that is like me wearing my Mets hat into Yankee Stadium, if something happens, I have no one to blame but myself. (Let me just say that I did this when I was 15 and I will never do it again!)

So that excuses that kind of behavior? That man was exercising his 1st amendment right. ...which I think still exists for conservatives.

I'm sorry, but I go by the philosophy, that the person responsible for the attack is the person that is doing the attacking, not the person that is being attacked.

In a perfect world, it doesn't excuse that behavior, but that man is a moron bringing his 3 year old to an Edwards rally with a Bush-Cheney sign. He was asking for trouble.

I go by the philosphy that if you are a moron, you probably deserve to be attacked!

Race was bought into the discussion from the beginning of this thread.

My post was an attempt at a little levity. I was not fond of daddy Bush's racist campaign in 1988 though even you people have to admit that is was racist.

This is really not a big deal if you ask me. Seems as though a bunch of conservatives found a picture they did not like and is circulating it through the internet.

that's why they call this the spin room!!!

Just for the record, I'm not voting for either one of them. Vote for the moron or the guy who can't come up with a vision. Love the primary process in this country!!
