Free-market conservatives predicted this would happen years ago. Now the chickens have come home to roost.

I do hope the French government can fix what they broke. It sounds like they are trying, so I give them credit for that.

Thank God Democrats haven't got a stranglehold on the US, or we'd find ourselves in a similar situation.

France has unemployment you say? TRUE LURING IN F'N JOBS AND PROVIDING FISCAL BENEFITS FOR NEW INDUSTRY.

Bulldoze France. The Brits need more parking.

The story isn't clear whether the problem is a public sector 35-hour work week or a national 35-hour work week.

It would seem to make a difference.

I'm not sure, but I think it's a national thing.

I found this quote pretty interesting, and his last sentence pretty much sums it up...

Quote:"The ability to adapt [the] workforce to peak and slack periods was good, but I knew when I applied the 35-hour week that I wouldn't make new hires," says Patrick Roos, who employs 38 at his custom-made shutter company in Burgundy. Though he says he'd love to see more flexible rules, Roos predicts that reform of the 35-hour week is unlikely: "It's now considered an entitlement."

Maybe after we get finished killing everything and one in Iraq (note the strong sarcasm here) we can start on France. :D

Sorry JBR and Dio, couldn't resist.

No need to apologize, USMC.

We know you radical conservatives want to take over the world. Watching the news and pundits who support that idea, the desire is obvious!

Just don't get mad by comparisons to Hitler.

Why would anyone want to take over this world?

And what is the deal with you folks who seem to be reduced to communicating through these silly smiley things? Are your other communication skills deficient?

I don't know why people like Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin, Cheney/Rumsfeld want to take over the world.

Usually an emoticon represents some level of sarcasm to the content of the posted message.

I know USMC, we tailgate at ball games in the fall and I put the emoticon  to let him know I'm not dead-serious in the above post.

We know one another and disagree with one another, all in good fun. Sometimes, however, people get offended. An emoticon, strategically employed, will hopefully allay any hurt feelings.

You asked:
"Are your other communication skills deficient?"

No, my communication skills are exemplary, so I've been told from co-workers and scum-suckin' libruls who read my rag. I find it funny, however, that when I make a lengthy post, people decry me for posting a dissertation. When I make a brief post, my communications skills are deficient.

Just can't win... :drink:
