what? why in the hell would they get rid of it? It was one of the best shows ever. it seemed like it was too popular for ESPN to cancel. Besides it being awesome, it also probably had a fair amount of truth to it.

i think part of the reason why it was cancelled is b/c it has too much truth

actually, it had everything to do with money. The NFL was pissed at ESPN for portraying them in a negative light, and ESPN didn't want to lose any contracts they had with the NFL.

This was an awesome show. cbf said it was horrible. That's coming from the same guy who thinks "Everybody loves Raymond" is funny.

Just because the main character is not as funny as his brother, father, or mother does not mean it is not a good show.

I agree with Terpy. ESPN, stick to sports. Plus, in Playmakers the same thing happened in every show.

I watched about 5 minutes of it...I never knew when it was going to be on and I didn't want to catch only half of it at a time. Now I wish I would have watched it just to see what all the hype was about.

actually the whole show isn't funny.

do you know what the "E" in ESPN stands for? without looking on a search engine.

the same thing didn't happen in every show. if you would've watched every show you'd know that isn't true.

The E stands for entertainment I believe. There are sharks in the ocean. What is your point?

How many Emmy's has ELR won?

Everybody I know says the same thing happens. "Oooh, honey, I have to watch this episode. He is snorting crack this time instead of coke." "OK, honey, I will just leave the divorce papers on top of the counter."

So what if they won a lot of emmy's. Titanic won a ton of awards but it was a crappy movie. Jimmy carter won the Nobel prize. Do you see my point.

Divorce was a major plot in only one episode. i get the feeling you hated it because you don't like shows with sex, drugs and violence, not because they "show the same thing every week." In fact, it had a plot as basic as that because that's what the NFL is like.

It is your opinion that Titantic stunk. I happen to share that opinion, but apparently countless people did not. My point is more people praised ELR than PM.

That dialogue was from people watching the show, not in it. I can appreciate a show with drugs, sex, and violence if it is tasteful and positively contributes to the movie.

Ever seen the movie Road to Perdition? Lots of violence and language, but it all contributes to the message and meaning of the movie. Sex in movies like Van Wilder is not tasteful.

Swoosh, when I listen to Eminem, I always see his message. I never said I didn't like Eminem. Playmakers does have a message, but it presents it in the way of a bad TV show, so I chose not to watch it.

I never really watched it. I like watching ESPN for live sports and sports news, not to watch a drama. I'm more into College Football instead of the NFL anyway, and probably for the reasons that made that show popular.
