BG 11-3, defeated Top 20 Purdue, lost to two top 10 teams
Mississippi 10-3, defeated no Top 20 teams, lost to 2 unranked teams.
Try again:

It's called research. You ought to try it sometime.
While played? :roflol: :roflol: :roflol:
You are desperate! The rankings matter most at the
end of the season, when the evaluations have something to go on.
See, MAC folks think the games actually mean something. You know wins and (in Ol Miss's case) losses. It doesn't surprise me that southerners just want a beauty contest of preseason rankings. Frankly, football is a bit rough for teams like Ol Miss and Ga Tech.
And yes, BG was better than Ol Miss in football in 2003. Like I said, BG
only lost to 2 teams, both were in the Top 10. BG also beat a Top 20 team on the road, and a team that finished 10-2, and should have been ranked.
Ol Miss lost to 3 teams, 2 of which didn't even end up ranked. They beat no teams whose final ranking (and most accurate) put them in the Top 20.
That's if you put alot of stock in rankings. Half of those are overblown while good teams get ignored, obviously seen by the MAC teams' low ranking. MAC teams won big games, you know the point of the whole thing...if it's a popularity contest, then MAC teams are on the outside. No question. But, at the end of the day, MAC teams had the wins.
