QUOTE (nate jonesacc @ Dec 19 2003, 10:00 AM)
You guys ever heard of the 11th commandment? Thou shalt not say society-created "curses" like ******, ****, ***** and ******.

Society created curse words hold no bearing on one's faith... The only curse that exists in my mind and in God's is taking his name in vain.

******, ******, ****, *****, slut... it all means nothing but to the secular world.

Oooohhhh, so I can get in church and say, "A-Fing-men", and that's ok. Hmm, gotcha.

Nate, I guess we aren't supposed to represent him in any other way than what's written in the Bible. Hey, is there anything in there about selling crack?

....oh, and you're VERY wrong on this one.

No, there is not. Societally (If that even is a word), yes that is wrong, but spiritually, no.

No, and on a spiritual level, if selling crack helps you love God more, then by all means, do it. However, that is extremely far fetched.
....oh, and you're VERY wrong on this one.
If using society-created cusses doesn't pull you away from God, there is nothing spiritually wrong with saying them. I know a couple outstanding, and world reknowned theologians who cuss like sailors.

If smoking crack doesn't keep you from worshipping God, then it's fine spiritually... but come on, get real, smoking crack keeps you from worshipping.

Cussing. . .wow, this is a worthy thread.

You know, you can always tell when you're getting on somebody's nerves when they post one of these attack threads. Good job, nate. Keep it going! 04-rock

Kev, the way you "debate" politics make me wince in embarrassment for you, my friend.

Then you turn to religion, and I see that, compared to matters of God and such, you are a freakin' genius in politics!

How many bible verses admonish us to abstain from usury, Kev? More than from swearing? Oh, to be sure.

If you're going to start preaching, let's get it all in priority, will ya?
