Your are nuts if you think Vince Carter is better than Kobe...You may have a point with McGrady but Vince???? You are crazy.

First of all, experience is very important in college basketball, you can't win with five freshman on the floor, you need some experience. Syracuse had experience lastb season.
I have always thought Tim Floyd was a good coach, and he is proving it this year because he has talent in New Orleans he did not have in Chicago, proving you need talent to start with to win. Coach K is a great coach, nobody is doubting that. But it is not his statistics that tell me that.
You saw last night that Phil Jackson could not make an adjustment when Shaq got into foul trouble. Phil is great at meshing players and getting them motivated, but he is not a great in game coach.
I agree that you can't make a comparison between Vince and Kobe because Kobe has always had Shaq. It would be interesting to see how Vince would do with a great big man, which Antoinio Davis is not.

Part of a coach's responsibility is to create talent... to turn players into better players... Gary Williams is one of the best examples of this. Gary isn't a great recruiter, is a decent ingame coach... but by far his strongest attribute is his ability to make players better (Juan Dixon, Lonny Baxter etc...) Tim Floyd hadn't done that in the past... once he got Baron Davis, he started winning, and Baron Davis is by far more of the reason for NO's success than Tim Floyd is.
Phil Jackson is not perfect... He's a decent in game coach... but I agree, his strengths do lie outside of the actual game. He does what Gary does... improves his players off the gamecourt so that they can survive on the gamecourt w/o the coach. I would have to say that making your players independant and self-sufficient is one of the most important aspects of coaching... That's why I've always thought Shane Battier was one of the best players ever to play college basketball. He was an extension of Coach K ON the court, and he still was an amazing player in his own right.

Sure... I love making avatar bets with GT fans... except when they don't do their end of the deal... ahem...
And another amazing showing... UConn up 9 with 2 minutes AT HOME against the powerhouse of NEVADA.

I hope they play that bad against Tech.
Also Nate, guess who is leading the nation and ACC in assists. No no, not Chris Duhon, guess again.
Here's a hint, he's also second in the nation and first in the ACC in FG%.

Chris Duhon hasn't even stepped on the court yet for a real game... Neither has 90% of the other Div. 1 teams...
I hope your were joking...

I don't care how well Jack does against Fairleigh Dickinson Community College, Middle Northern Tennessee St. Tech and Maryland... Tell me when he does well against some great teams...

Your whole team swallows... Especially Gilchrist and Jones... the most overrated 1-2 punch in the history of Maryland basketball... Is that an oxymoron?

Think what you want....
If you really think Gilchrist sucks then you didnt watch much basketball last season, he kept us in the game against Florida and almost won the game for us against Michigan St.
As for Jones, the season is young as is he...he will be all ACC before he leaves here and he will throw down on Reddick atleast once this year.
Even if those guys do suck NCM is going to be great this year

If you watched the Mickey D's All American game you would have noticed that Mike Jones is a heck of a player...and if you didnt know he won the three point competition at the game.

don't worry, when duhon comes out of the box strong and leads the ncaa in assists for like one week or less, nate will claim that he is leading the ncaa in assists all season...

1) Every freshman has a few great games... even the horrible Shav dominated a few games...
2) You were claiming that Jones would be ready THIS YEAR.
3) Yes he will be All ACC before he leaves... but not this year... you claimed he was better than Redick, Deng and Ewing...
