I certainly don't want to be getting any nastygrams from the RIAA or anyone else when I use Kazaa Lite, so I'm looking to upgrade my firewall. Right now I'm using some free download, but I have a feeling it is minimal coverage at best.

I use Comcast High Speed Internet at home. McAfee is offering a discount with my virus scan renewal for their Personal Firewall. Are any of you familiar with it? Will it do the necessary blocking for me when I am on Kazaa Lite? Is it sufficient to protect my computer from other hacker-type invasions?

Any comments/thoughts/recommendations are appreciated!

It's not worth all of this IMO, I am going to reformat my computer and get rid of Limewire this weekend.

Random thoughts and questions:

I have my Kazaa settings set to not allow any file sharing (meaning what I d/l is not available to be uploaded by anyone). Does this keep me safe from their scanning?

I also have ZoneAlarm on at all times. Will this block their scanning?

I've d/l'ed PeerGuardian, but not really sure how to set the thing up. It's running, but it's not set up to block any specific IP's. Where on Kazaa do I find which IP's I need to block?

go to the methlab IP database. download the full file of ips. name it Guardian.P2P and replace the file with the same name in the program folder.

not sharing will protect you.

ZoneAlarm will not help. They are scanning you using kazaa. You could not use kazaa and block them at the same time.
