ATHENS, Greece - Police arrested two Albanian men Friday and sought three accomplices for allegedly stealing an automatic teller machine from a hospital.

Police said the ATM containing 55,400 euros (US$65,000) was removed from Athens' Henri Dunant hospital on May 20.

No details were given on how the machine was removed.

A couple other ATM crimes I've heard of (no, I don't have the links)

Two guys attempted to rip an ATM out of a bank wall with their truck, and ended up busted when they failed. They left the scene with the ATM intact and the chain and the truck bumper attached, complete with the license plate.

An outfit was finally busted after they negotiated and won a bid to install ATMs in several malls. The ATMs were installed and set up to record account numbers and passwords from users, and occassionally actually spit some cash out. Meanwhile, accounts were being plundered. It took several months to discover the scam and sting the perps.

This guy hit one with his truck. then started dragging it behind him. when the cops pulled him he said "Its a washing machine"
