I think it's bs that they rank Michael's shot in '82 higher than Lorenzo Charles' shot in '83 (#2) or Laettner's (#3). After all, State and Duke won their games at the buzzer with those shots, MJ's shot gave Carolina the lead with about :15 left. The most memorable moment of that game was the Hoya throwing the ball to James Worthy to seal the win.

Guess it's just like Michael being ranked as the top hoopster in ACC history... :rolleyes:

Michael's shot was memorable purely because it was Michael and UNC won.
If it was Joe Schmoe... it would just be another great buzzer beater.

I thought "buzzer beater" means that a shot beats the buzzer, not that its the last shot with 15 seconds left.

Sorry. but I can't BELIEVE that US Reed's halfcourt shot at the buzzer to beat Louisville in 1981 wasn't on there.
