Regardless of party, I am opposed to any military action where the objective is not to win a decisive victory as quickly as possible. I do not favor any "limited" war.

That viewpoint was shaped by living through the deaths of over 50,000 of my fellow young Americans in Vietnam, where there never was a legitimate attempt to win anything. Those young men and women died in vain, as did anyone who lost life or limb in any war that we did not try to win.

Wars end one of two ways--you win, or you surrender. If you are not fighting to win, you are fighting to surrender. If a war does not justify every legitimate effort to win, then it does not justify fighting.

Fascinating read. Saw it was from nearly 2 DECADES ago so went back post one and read the whole thing.

From 2003. I had two pre-k kids and had never joined a message board before (2004). This was a full decade before I landed here.
Both my toddlers are now college graduates and we here are mostly arguing about the same dumb schit.

Useless wars, government handout programs, education, moral decline, drugs and crime, political power and its use, on and on and on.

We’re hamsters on a wheel and perhaps we can never get off...

The reason I like digging through old threads and keeping long threads on the board is HISTORY is Important. Even this boards' own history is significant in its own way.

We see many new threads a day on top-of-mid topics, but to be able to go dig through thoughts from years ago and realize we really haven't moved to solve a lot of these problems can be motivating for us to get more involved ourselves and take actual action.

The other thing I believe it shows is just how much President Trump DID accomplish so far in 3 and a half years, when Bush II, Obissmal and their cronies did almost nothing except make things worse.

President Trump has a callous personality, but he gets things done and he does things that help our country and most of the citizens in it (and hurts illegals and our enemies, which is the way things should be.)

I'll be going to the Trump rally again to see President Trump, and a whole bunch of friends and acquaintances are driving down with me and themselves from all across the South. Tens of THOUSANDS will be there, probably more thousands like the other rallys where the lines stretched for miles, and people in wheelchairs, crutches and walkers were there alongside their fellow citizens from ALL backgrounds and colors, and our children peacefully celebrating our great Country and our Freedoms. WE KNOW who the President IS and we know who the best person for the job is and WE KNOW who really won the election in 2020 and his name begins with a "T" not a "b". That's "T" for "Terrific" and "True" not "b" for "B@$tard" and "bull$#!tter".
