Was the resolution to allow Saddam as much time as he wants while inspectors search for his weapons?

In the words of Dr. Blix... "It's not the inspector's job to find the weapons."

It is Iraq's job to comply and disarm. They have failed to do so miserably. As one commentator said after France's statement asking for more inspections, "I have not seen a white washing of facts like this since the break-up of the League of Nations."

So far the only countries out there with a f'n clue:
- Italy
- Spain
- Australia
- UK
- US

Never send the UN to do a man's job

Quote:The United States and Britain are preparing a new Security Council resolution that, in the words of one U.S. official involved in the discussions, makes it clear "the time has come to enforce [Resolution] 1441." The exact language is being hammered out between Washington and London.

How fast did France forget what happened to them during the Nazi's reign of terror :bang: Seems to me like they're just scared to make someone mad at them...

The US gets its panties in a twist everytime someone who is a "threat" to us has nuclear weapons- AND WITH GOOD REASON. HOWEVER, we have nuclear weapons and in the eyes of many countries are a "threat" to them, so imo, we are being hypocritical. Sure, he shouldn't have them if he has them, but its all about an arm's race; if we're threatening him and we have nuclear weapons, it would make sense for him to have them too wheather we like it or not.

Waiting for the impending doom that is GTS....03-razz

FWIW, France hasn't wanted to fight anyone since they dumped Napoleon.

Thats not a valid arguement, the US has not had an unstable govt nor has it violated any international treatys/laws in recent history, the US not only gives more aid to foreign countries than all other nations combined, but we have also been acting as the worlds police in recent years, it seems that when ever a nation is in critical trouble, the US is the first place they come crawling to for help. The fact is the US is not imperialistic in nature nor threatening to any other foreign country, we simply strike when provoked.I'm shocked by the many ignorant americans out there, I can at least understand the ignorance that abounds in the middle east from the common folk, they have no press, their TV is state run and they do not have any freedom of speech, it seems here in America many simply ignore the facts and follow the crowd without truly analyzing the situationa and looking towards history. Lets take Sadaams use of Chemical weapons on his own people, lets imagine the US did this to some immigrants near the Texas/Mexico border. How do you think the world would react!

The US doesn't make terroristic threats.

The US doesn't gas it's own people.

The US doesn't violate numerous UN rules.

The US doesn't invade random countries for the hell of it (Kuwait).

The US doesn't knowingly harbor terrorists.

The US doesn't fund terrorism.

The US doesn't have a dictator.

The list could go on forever.
