My family will not be able to all gather together till next month for Christmas, so I had not been looking forward to my first Christmas Day in my life without being with my parents.

What I got for Christmas was a nice surprise...being adopted by my sister's in-laws for the day. They didn't want me to be alone on Christmas so they invited me over for lunch, had a stocking for me, and made me part of the family for the day. I can't think of a nicer gift than one of a family opening its arms and taking me under their wing. :)
