The bowl picture firmed up considerably in some ways this past weekend (The Big-10 is finished playing) and muddied up in other areas (Washington State lost in the PAC-10 and the MAC is cloudy as ever). In any case here are the bowl matchups as I see them right now. I apologize in advance for any mistakes due to my lack of familiarity in some of the wackier conference tie-breakers or conference bowl affiliations.

I'm assuming the BCS conference champs are:

ACC: Florida State (Definite)
Big-10: Ohio State (Definitely tied with Iowa but has better overall record)
Big-XII: Oklahoma
Big East: Miami
PAC-10: Washington State
SEC: Georgia

Teams with a "**" beside their name have accepted a bid to the bowl in quesiton.

Fiesta Bowl (BCS #1 vs. BCS #2) (historically Big XII champ vs. at large) - My Buckeyes clinched one of the two spots in the big dance with a 14-9 win over archrival Michigan Saturday. Miami is two wins away (Sarycuse and VA Tech) away from locking down the other spot and passed the Pitt test on Thursday in a good game. Oklahoma and Georgia are going to be #'s 3 and 4 in the latest BCS rankings but I don't see Miami loosing either of their last two games.
Most likely at this point: Miami vs. Ohio State**.

Rose Bowl (BCS) (historicaly Big-10 champ vs. PAC-10 champ) With Ohio State definitely going to the Fiesta the Rose will have to pick a replacement. Notre Dame is still a possiblility but can't see the Rose passing up a very good Iowa team and sticking with the historical Big-10/PAC-10 matchup. Washington State lost this past weekend to rival Washington but can still lock up the Rose with a victory over UCLA. If Washington State looses that game then USC would go to the Rose even though Washington State owns the head-to-head matchup.
Most likely: Iowa (pretty sure about this one) vs. Washington State.

Orange (BCS) (historically the higher ranked Big East or ACC champ vs. at large) - I'm still sticking with my Notre Dame prediction on this one because the Orange looks to loose it's "historically" correct pick of Miami. I'm pretty sure that Iowa and ND are gong to lock up the "at large" spots in the BCS. I also still think the Big XII champ will be the opponent since they won't be in the Fiesta unless Miami looses (If Miami drops a game obviously a chain reaction will occur). The Big XII rep is down to Oklahoma or Colorado after Oki stomped TT this week and I think the Colorado/Oki rematch will be a great game.
Most likely: Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma

Sugar (BCS) (historically the SEC champ vs. at large) - I still think the Sugar will stick with the SEC/ACC champ (now definitely Florida State) matchup. For the SEC Georgia is still the most likely pick. Georgia has the SEC East locked and will face the West winner for the slot. In the West it's down to Auburn and LSU. Auburn owns the head to head but if LSU beats Arkansas this Friday they will clinch the West championship due to the better overall record. I still see LSU winning the West but getting beaten by Georgia.
Most likely: Georgia vs. Florida State (definitely in either the Orange or Sugar).

Now that things are a bit more firmed up I'll try to predict the other bowl matchups as well...

Captial One (formerly Citrus) Bowl (Big-10 #2 vs. SEC #2) SITE: Orlando, Fla. Wed., Jan. 1
Prediction: Michigan vs. Florida
For some reason everyone is picking Penn St. to go to this one. Michigan is the clear #3 Big-10 team (remember everything got moved down a notch because the Bucks are in the Fiesta) and owns the head to head over Penn St. Maybe there is some rule that prevents the same team from going twice in a row??

Gator Bowl (Big East No. 2 or ND vs. ACC No. 2) SITE: Jacksonville, Fla. Wed., Jan. 1
Prediction: Winner of Pitt/West Virginia vs. Virginia

Cotton Bowl (Big 12 No. 2 vs. SEC No. 3/4/5 or ND) SITE: Dallas Wed., Jan.1
Prediction: Colorado vs. LSU

Outback Bowl (Big Ten No. 3 vs. SEC No. 3/4/5) SITE: Dallas Wed., Jan.1
Prediction: Penn State vs. Auburn

San Francisco Bowl (Mountain West No. 3 vs. Big East No. 3/4/5) SITE: San Francisco Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: New Mexico vs. looser of Pitt/West Virginia

Peach Bowl (ACC No. 3 vs. SEC No. 3/4/5) SITE: Atlanta Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: Maryland vs. Arkansas `

Liberty Bowl (C-USA No. 1 vs. Mountain West No. 1) SITE: Memphis, Tenn. Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: TCU vs. Colorado St.**

Silicon Vally Classic (WAC vs. Pac-10 No. 6) SITE: San Jose, Calif. Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: Fresno St. vs. Washington

Sun Bowl (Big Ten No. 5 vs. Pac-10 No. 3) SITE: El Paso, Texas Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: Wisconsin vs. UCLA

Humanitarian Bowl (WAC vs. Big 12 No. 8 ) SITE: Boise, Idaho Tues., Dec. 31
Prediction: Boise St. vs. aTm

Music City Bowl (Big Ten No. 6 vs. SEC No. 6/7) SITE: Nashville, Tenn. Mon., Dec. 30
Prediction: Minnesota vs. Tennesee

Seattle Bowl (Mountain West No. 4 vs. ACC No. 5/6) Seattle Mon., Dec. 30
Prediction: South Florida vs. Clemson
The Mountain West only has three bowl eligible teams. I'm going out on a limb and saying they'll invite South Florida (a 9-2 team).

Continental Tire Bowl (Big East No. 4/5 vs. ACC No. 5/6) SITE: Charlotte, N.C. Sat., Dec. 28
Prediction: Boston College vs. Georgia Tech.

Alamo Bowl (Big Ten No. 4 vs. Big 12 No. 4) SITE: San Antonio Sat., Dec. 28
Prediction: Purdue vs. Kansas St.

Holiday Bowl (Pac-10 No. 2 vs. Big 12 No. 3) SITE: San Diego Fri., Dec. 27
Prediction: USC vs. Texas

Independence Bowl (Big 12 No. 5/6/7 vs. SEC No. 6/7) SITE: Shreveport, La. Fri., Dec. 27
Prediction: Texas Tech vs. Conneticut
The SEC only has 6 bowl eligible teams by my count and I already slotted Tennesee in the Music City Bowl. I have no idea who Tech's opponent will be. I just slapped Conneticut (Independent) in there. They could take a MAC team as well.

Houston Bowl (C-USA No. 3 vs. Big 12 No. 5/6/7) SITE: Houston Fri., Dec. 27
Prediction: Southern Miss vs. Iowa State

Insight Bowl (Big East No. 3 or ND vs. Pac-10 No. 4) SITE: Phoenix Thur., Dec. 26
Prediction: Virginia Tech vs. Arizona St.

Motor City Bowl (MAC No. 1/2 vs. Big Ten No. 7) SITE: Detroit Thur., Dec. 26
Prediction: Northern Illinois vs. New Mexico State
The Big Ten only has 7 eligible bowl teams this year and Ohio State is going to the Fiesta so this would normally be the #8 Big-10 team. I'm slotting the Sun Belt #2.

Hawaii Bowl (C-USA vs. WAC) SITE: Honolulu Wed., Dec. 25
Prediction: Tulane vs. Hawaii**

Las Vegas Bowl (Mountain West No. 2 vs. Pac-10 No. 5) SITE: Las Vegas Wed., Dec. 25
Prediction: Air Force vs. Oregon St.

Tangerine Bowl (ACC No. 4 vs. Big 12 No. 5/6/7) SITE: Orlando Mon., Dec. 23
Prediction NC State vs. Nebraska

GMAC Bowl (C-USA No. 2 vs. WAC or MAC) SITE: Mobile, Ala. Wed., Dec. 18
Prediction: Louisville vs. Marshall

New Orleans Bowl (Sun Belt champ vs. C-USA) SITE: New Orleans Tues., Dec. 17
Prediction: North Texas** vs. ?
Conference USA only has 4 bowl eligible teams and I've already slotted them. I would guess Bowling Green or Toledo since the MAC has plenty of available teams left.

UVA to Seattle Bowl
NCSU to Peach Bowl
Maryland to Gator Bowl
Clemson to Tangerine

I think people will give NCSU the edge because of their win over FSU

SOUTH FLORIDA vs. CLEMSON IN SEATTLE??? BAHHHHH!!!!

Probably BYU vs. UVA(is BYU eligible?)

I don't believe BYU is elgible.

Toledo will be headed to the Motor City Bowl after we beat Bowling Green on November 30th. The win will get us back in the MAC Championship game against our old friends from Marshall. We beat Northern Illinois yesterday so they are on the outside if we beat BG.

Northern Illinois does deserve to go to a bowl game and could get one of those other bids.

If Toledo does beat BG and gets the Motor City Bowl bid, South Florida will likely be the opponent.
