Love ya rickheel! but where do you find these web-sites?

I absolutely believe that I could take Bible verses and "show proof" that Elvis is an Apostle!
I've actually had Serious tarheel fans quote the Bible to prove that God is a Tarheel! I'm not kidding! Wish I could remember the verses.

In fact, I remember blowing my horn and cursing at them when they came to Wake.

Holy Mother of God! My heart breaks when I see stuff like that and see what my loved ones are forced to deal with in their lives. Those people give Christians a bad name.

How come we don't see any www.atheistshatefags.com websites out there?

BPD, you know I don't lump all Christians in with these idjits. However, every time I see some moron(read Steve Hood, wolfneck4life, prodigal wolfneck, statemiffed, et al) make blanket statements condemning those who support atheism I usually only have to drop a link to our friends at Westboro on them to shut them up.

That's such a shame.

Even if they don't like homosexuals, that doesn't give them an excuse to take such an active approach to it.

Like someone else said, they give Christians a bad name.

I dislike them the same way I dislike atheists who try to bring down the church.

Ah, Kansas' gift to God, the Rev. Fred Phelps. This is the guy who showed up with his pickets at the funeral of Matthew Shepard, the gay man who was beaten several years back and left tied to a fence in the middle of nowhere to die. A horrible act sure, but if this was your loved one how would you have felt to be burying your son or your brother -- that you probably still loved despite the lifestyle he led -- and seeing a group of people standing nearby holding up these hateful signs about him?

This same alleged man of God had up an utterly repugnant webpage after Nine-Eleven that included a jolly re-write of "God Bless America" called "God Hates America." I can't find that page any longer so I assume he had at least a medicine-dropper's amount of sense to take it down.

I am spiritual to a certain extent, but I don't adhere to an organized religion, in fact the idea of organized religion is kind of anaethema to me given a bad experience I had as a teenager.

I do hold to one belief very strongly, and that's that fanatics of any stripe scare the living crap out of me and I want no part of them. They don't have to be religious fanatics necessarily, either.

I'm frequently reminded that it was the actions of a fanatic -- albeit a political fanatic -- that caused a good friend of mine to very nearly lose his life in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. The sheer horror of what happened at WTC blows the OKC bombing out of the water, of course. If one wanted to be literal about it, that's a lot of empty chairs (if you're not familiar with the concept behind the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the 168 victims are represented by empty chairs in a grassy area that was once the footprint of the building). But the extremist ideals -- however different they may be -- that bore fruit to those horrific acts seem somewhat uniform to me.

Okay, end of speech.
