ok i know you all want me to weigh in on this one...
the first thing i would like to point out is the logo in the top left hand corner of the page(MSN), she may have said that it did not influence her conclusions, but i gaurantee that had bearing on her outcomes.
the next thing i would like to say is that this woman has no idea how to run a computer.
quote:
The computer came with Internet Explorer, and I installed Netscape for e-mail. Apple has a native e-mail application, but I couldn't get it to work.

yeah, cuz its really hard to register with apple!
another point is that, apple did not design the imac to be a business machine. it was designed for use at home, by a family. Not for people who are using it for serious production, although IMO it does the job.

quote:
The iMac came with ClarisWorks, a less capable office package.

no its called appleworks, and it does just as much as word, if not more

quote:
Apple buffs argue that chip speed is a misleading measure. AMD, which trails Intel in chip speed, makes the same argument. I agree, up to a point.
The quality of the hard drive, memory, bus, video card, etc., also affects a computer's speed. But, golly, 800 MHz just isn't very fast today. Given the difference in chip speeds, though, the iMac did pretty well. My hat's off to Apple's engineers.

wow how many times did she contradict herself in that statement?

quote:
A one-button mouse. Actually, the entire mouse is the button. I'm used to using the right button and scroll wheel on my Windows mouse. Really, Apple, you could do better than this.

ok, lets get this straight once and for all! for most apple users the one-button mouse works fine, and if you need to use another mouse, you just plug it in, and it will work! simple as that, no strings attached! so if you think you need more than one button on your mouse, fine! just plug it in!

quote:
The 15-inch monitor. Apple has begun shipping iMacs with 17-inch screens. I'm used to using a 21-inch CRT monitor, and the 15-incher was just too small.

wow, she is soo smart! OF COURSE YOU CAN'T COMPARE A 21"CRT TO A 15" FLAT SCREEN!!!! this was a way to cut the price, but wait, i guess she doesnt want that now...

quote:
No floppy drive. I know 3.5-inch floppies aren't used much anymore. But the need does arise occasionally. The iMac should have a floppy drive.

ok, lets get with the times people! apple hasnt used floppies on their computers for at least 3 years. there is no use for them. when you have a mac, you get something called an iDisk. on the iDisk you can store any information you want(i.e. documents, pics). and you can also access this information from any computer that has internet access(yes even pc's).
so i guess that is all i have to say, thank you for your time, and i give you a pat on the back if you read this whole post!
