Leslie takes WNBA into unchartered territory
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES -- Lisa Leslie became the first woman to dunk in a professional game Tuesday night when the Los Angeles Sparks center did it late in the first half against the Miami Sol.
The 6-foot-5 Leslie received an outlet pass from Latasha Byears and went in on a breakaway. As Miami's Betty Lennox trailed the play, Leslie dunked with 4:46 left in the first half.
Leslie dunked three times in practice during the recent All-Star weekend in Washington, but it had not been done in a game in the WNBA's six seasons.
The first college woman to dunk in a game was West Virginia's Georgeann Wells, who did it Dec. 21, 1984. North Carolina's Charlotte Smith dunked in 1994.
Houston Comets rookie Michelle Snow dunked three times during her college career at Tennessee.

Why the yawn rick? You've got several alumni proudly representing UNC in the pros. One of them was even mentioned in the article!

For a minute there I thought you had something important to say... like maybe the WNBA added a requirement that in order to play you had to have been a Hawaiian Tropic or Hooters girl or something. Then I might watch.
