I almost have to agree with Pooh on this. The CrimiNoles did not look that impressive against the effort put forth by the Mighty Turtles.

Actually I hope NC State is in the Orange Bowl.

It would be great to have two BCS teams from the
ACC...

Cause the 'Noles are going to Tempe!

LRT: It's the difference between making an objective prediction and a subjective one. Paul is thinking with his heart and I'm thinking with my head. If the Noles end up in Tempe, I'll eat crow, but seriously, they are headed for a non-BCS bowl for the second year in a row, IMO. I'm not trying to talk smack. They handed our asses to us last night just like I expected. I never predicted the Terps to win more than 7 games this year, so no one can say that I predict from the heart.

Listen fellas and ladies...I understand very well
the ACC vs FSU scenario. I have no problem with
that. Had I gone somewhere else, I'd be just
as vocal the other way. But the comment made...
above..."the suddem urge to cheer for Miami"

Am I missing something? Does Miami where ACC
patches on their jersies. Why would you cheer
for a team that if they win...belittles your
team. Have you never heard of "FSU and the
8 Dwarfs!" Have you not read the remarks that
have circulated for a year all over the Internet..
"That the ACC is dragging FSU...DOWN!"

The ACC had 6 Bowl teams last year. Wake Forest
also qualified for a bowl but was not invited.

7 out of 9 teams with winning records...How
many times before 1992 did that happen?

I know that the days of the Florida State routs
are over. They ain't over because Miami beats
Florida State...they are over, because every
school in this league, with the exception of
Clemson, which has always been a National Power,
has elevated its emphasis in football.

The schools did that to compete with Florida
State.

Ga Tech shared a National Title in 1990 but you
could count on one hand the number of times they
beat Georgia in the previous 20 years. Now they
line up dead even with the Dawgs. 3 wins in the
last 4 years.

Carolina won 10 games a couple of times. SOS
brought home Duke with a couple of winning seasons.

But, now the ACC competes on an even keel with
everybody. We've won more from the SEC than they've won from us in the past 5 years. Yet
when the publications come out...There we sit
as the #5 BCS league. That's what should Irritate
you.

The league teams do not compete against Florida
State because Florida State is in decline...the
League competes because the league is loaded with
good teams that on any given Saturday can beat
each other.

Red Terp...what did you want me to write..."You're
Correct!" "We were lucky!" Am I not allowed
to respond to a post? Should I write...Yes,
NC State will tear us apart!

If all the Terps cheer for other ACC teams to beat
us...I understand that. I understand that thinking and agree with it.

One of the posters wrote..."We're going down on
November 9th. (When we play Tech) He believes
in his team. They are playing at home. They
believe they have a shot at us. I respect that.
(I don't agree with it) but I respect the belief
in his own ballclub.

I used to have a bumper sticker that read.......

"My two Favorite Teams...

The Seminoles and
Whoever's playing the Gaytors!"

I took it off many years ago for one reason.
The only loss by Florida that means anything, is
the one that we give them.

Red Terp...I wasn't trying to irritate...however,
I think our constant improvement...our going
into Byrd last night and winning very convincingly
justifies more merit than a slight slam that we
aren't the best in the conference.

However, that's your opinion and it's OK! But
to say you will cheer for Miami...is to say, you
will cheer against the ACC and Maryland.

Cheer for the Dookies this coming Saturday...They'll need the support!

Well said Paul. I honestly can say I pull for all ACC teams in OOC games. The only time I cannot do this is when Duke is playing in the NCAA basketball tourney. I just cannot pull for them. Kinda an ABD variation on ABC, which we have lived with forever. Other than that, I pull for every ACC team. Sure, we dont like each other head to head, but OOC games need all our support for our conference teams. The better we all do OOC, the better the conference looks as a whole.
