Mrs. T said she just heard on the news that the protesters gummed up the locks at three metro stations so they couldn't open them this morning. She's going to take the MARC train and thus foil their nefarious plans and will be periodically reporting back to me today.

I haven't heard a lot of what people are going to be trying to do in regards to avoiding all this mess...but I'm assuming that the number of people riding the Metro today is going to be a lot higher than normal.
BTW...I read an interesting commentary in the Post the other day. I don't have the inclination to find it right now ( <img border="0" alt="[laugh]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> ) but it basically said that for all the people that are out there espousing "anti-capitalism", it's the people that they are supposedly protesting for that are going to be hurt the most by their shenanigans. According to that article, the "fat cats" that they dislike are on salary and can miss a day without any harm--while the poorer working class people are the ones that don't get paid if they miss a day of work due to traffic conditions, or their stores being vandalized. Interesting thoughts...

I heard a little bit on the way in this morning about they were trying to stop traffic on the 14th street bridge by sitting in the middle of it and blocking traffic and they set some tires on fire on the GW PKWY... They are MORONS for sure....
They are much more effective ways to get your point across without getting arrested... I've never understood what getting arrested did to help ones cause...

Leave them out on the street, and let the pissed of motorists get a hold of them. It takes long enough to get from the suburbs to the city already.

Their cause is a good one, for anyone curious. the IMF and the World Bank are evil.
However, I do disagree with some of the violent methods of protesting.
