Ziggy continues his forray into Samuel Smith. Today I'm drinking Sammy's Winter Ale Welcome. Now while Ziggy usually loathes Winter brews, this one has quite the bite to it. Apparently Bill Shakespeare approved of this beverage, as indicated on the label, "blessing of your heart, you brew good ale." Bitter and creamy is how I would describe this beer. While creamy would usually denote a stout, this brew is a little heavier than say, your Bass.

Thanks for the recommendations. My next visit to beer capital (local worldly grocery Jungle Jims) may see me purchasing some of the aforementioned beverages. Right now, I'm torn b/w Sam Adam's lager, and Sam's spring seasonal White Ale. While the White ale is good, my lips can't stay off the lager. There was a dispute, words were said, but no hard feelings. But, of Sam's seasonal's the Spring is my fav. Hey, it's a belgian white. The summer brew, I believe is a hefewiezen also, but has a hint of lime.

Alright, I've got a half hour before I depart for the UC/WVU game. Anyone want to wager how many Sam Adams I polish off before tip off? I've got two under my belt, been nursing since 9ish. I say two more.

Sounds tasty LL. My fav concoction involving peppermint schnapps is, when it's added to hot chocolate. Uhmmm. Winter drinks are my absolute fav mixed drinks. Some hot cider and 151, ahh, last year in Philly waiting for my flight to Dublin at my all time fav pub ever McGillian's! Such a cozy atmosphere. About 20 degrees outside, nice fireplace inside, decked out in wood, free stew, oldest pub in Philly, so f@cking cool!

Just bought a 12 pk sampler at local convenient store. It's a microbrewey called Tommyknocker (out of Idaho Springs, CO). It's got a little everything, an IPA, a few diff lagers, and a hefeweizen. Solid purchase.

Lion Stout, from Sri Lanka. I'm cultured. Not my favorite stout, but it's good. Real strong and bitter, like my ideal man! At 8.0% alc it'll get you solidly tossed, like my salad last night! Though I can only find it in 625ml bottles, whatver the hell that amounts to, stupid metric.

Right now, I'm working on a term paper for my International Relations class, so I opted for a bottle of wine. Some Napa Valley Vineyards Merlot circa 2002. The merlots I normally drink are very dry and strong. This one is quite the opposite. Got a recommendation from the magazine Esquire. This one isn't dry at all, and is very sweet and fruity. Just like me.

I'm drinking another bottle of wine right now. Black Opal cabernet merlot. Ehh, it's booze. It's 10:30. The taste is, I don't know, too light, too nondescprit, leaves as soon as you swallow. Vague come to mind. I'm much better at describing beer. Though I'm equally talented at consuming both.

You know, I'm not even sure why I'm drinking this out of a glass. I'm gonna get hammered this morning.

So the wine's gone. Thankfullly I've got some chinese beer in reserve. Tsingtao. It's a typical lager, much like your Heinekin. It's mostly flavorless, though after drinking a bottle of wine, everything loses it's taste. From what I recall before I drank this wine, it's like Heinekin without flavor, so basically it's drinkable, albeit sans taste. it's not very good and i will not purchase this beer again. That, my friends, well, LL seems to be the only one who appreciates this thread, I can guarentee. I mean it's not bad, but I wouldn't recommend buying it. I mean, if someone offfered it to you, I wouldn't pass it up. The only beverage of adult consumption that I'd pass up is some girly beer (ie smirnoff, unless that was all that was to drink). I mean, I'd partake in a girly liqour concoction, but it'd have to be after several drinks.

Just bought 3 diff. six packs at my local beer heaven. Got some Argentian beer (figure might as will sample what they drink before I head down there) called Quilmes. It's a pretty good ale, not the best tasting I've ever had, but it's decent. I also bought Rogue's Mocha Porter. Que drowl emoticon times three.. Sooo good, sooo flavorful. I love Porters. I also bought a Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. This is the best tasting IPA I've ever had in my entire freaking life. No joke. This brew is sooo hoppy, and at 6%, a few might knock you on your ass. It's a bit pricey, 'round $9.00 American for a sixer. But it's damn worth it. The beer stocker told me to try their other IPA, but I'm not ready, yet to invest over $10.00 (again, American) for four beers. Maybe next week.

Drinking an Italian Wine right now, Dellatori, it's a Pinot Grigio white wine. Ziggy likes. Should have chilled it first, but I didn't. Very smooth, crisp, and fruity. Ziggy also likes cigars. Some Al Capone Cognac flavored. Mmmmmmm.....

Today Ziggy is drinking Kirin Ichiban. It's a decent lager. Only bought it, because I haven't tried it. No more analysis. Pick it up, it's not bad.
