Yes they were missing Berkman and Harang has been pitching well but it is more than that.
This team has been shutout 8 times this season. They seem to excel in stranding runners on base. There is little to no clutch hitting and I have not seen a come from behind win in the late innings except for maybe 2-3 times all season. This team has not had a walk off anything all year.
The way the team is now they will not make the playoffs unless for some reason everything clicks for the last 2 months of the season and they go on tear like the previous 2 seasons. I do not see that happening for a 3rd year in a row.

Yes, he is. He's a horse, too. I was at a game he was pitching a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta, and he threw about 150 pitches. Don't see that much any more.
it was 135.

I know how you feel. Gary Majewski has an ERA over 11 with the Reds.

Narron is a dumshit. I hope his ass gets fired. Down 1 with a runner on second with 1 out and you let Juan Castro hit when you have Edwin Encarnacion and David Ross on the bench. What a ******* idiot. Of course Castro strikes out and the Reds lose.

F*** the f***ing Braves! Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, no outs, down 5-4 with McCann and Francoeur coming up, and not only do we not take the lead, we don't even tie! And against the team we're chasing in the wild card race no less!

Reds are shut out by Carpenter. Bottom of the order is..... 7. Royce Clayton 8. Jason Larue. No wonder.

EE Narron= If he had played him this whole time we would have a comfortable lead in first.

Jerry Narron once again loses the game. Tie game 1-1. Bottom of the order is coming up for the Cards in the 8th inning. Narron brings in Ryan Franklin. he gets a 1-2-3 (Molina, Timo Perez, Eckstein). Then he leaves him in the bottom of the ninth to face Duncan, Pujols and Rolen. Of course Frankling, being our worst reliever lets the winning run in. La Rusa brought in his two best arms to pitch the 8th and 9th (Wainwright and Izzy) and Narron uses Ryan freaking Franklyn. Why not use Bray or Coffey. I'm getting tired of Narron.

I was saying to myself: "game over" as soon as Duncan got the hit and Pujols and Rolen were coming up. BTW, I realize virtually every team in the league has at least one guy that is the designated Reds killer (or in the Cards' case, any one of them), but jeeweez will the Reds ever figure out a way to get Duncan out? I think he had 9 hits in the series!!!
On the subject of Franklin, I guess Jerry was hoping to save the arms for an extra inning battle? But Jerry, your team has to get out of the 9th first in order to play the extras.

Well, here we are, a few months later, and where are the Braves?
Surprisingly in a commanding position for a "wild card" berth. I didn't expect this much from them, let alone go toe-to-toe with the Phillies.
My sentimental favorites are the Chicago Cubs, who just can't seem to get right. If anyone has a "screw you" coming from my direction, it is they yet again. The "Curse Of The Bartman" continues...Is that guy still considered a scourge in the Windy City? Can he ever show his face at Wrigley Field again?
