its on OLN. it would have gotten better ratings on a real station. the Stanley Cup has been won since the 1880's. in the Northeast-its THE sport. I got friends in many different areas up there-it is to them what college basketball is to NC, Indiana, Kentucky. hell, hockey has gotten popular in the basketball crazed Triangle.

yeah having it OLNfor hte Stanley cup finals ..even if it is the first 2 games is a ratings FUBAR for the NHL. I'll be happy when game 3+ are on NBC.

That's mindblowing.

before the lockout, hockey (which was not on OLN at the time) was getting lower ratings than pro bowling.

The Tour de France is going to blow the NHL away in ratings. I wish the Tour was a few weeks earlier to see how they would go head-to-head.

are you talking about US ratings only? i mean, i'm sure the tour will beat the NHL in the US, but it won't blow it away. where it will do that is in the world ratings.

The NFL is more popular than the NHL in the northeast (by and large). So is MLB.

Canes up 3-0 in second game with about a minute left in the 2nd period! Bring the Cup south, boys!

Interesting side note: They were discussing about the discussions to move the Oilers that took place in the 90s, and they said one of the places discussed, was... Raleigh. Interesting turn of events.

It's ridiculous that I can't even watch the Stanley Cup finals on my basic cable package here at school.

Why the **** isn't hockey on a normal channel? Instead I get the spelling bee or the 500th re run of Worlds Strongest Man.

Someone really screwed up handling the NHL tv package.
