Didn't see T post. Just responding to GrayBeard's post. He ended the quote in his post as He was said to be a young Asian.... Was gonna delete the post after I noticed T was ok. My bad.

I think it is the general format that Matt Drudge uses for his posts.

I'm guessing there is going to be a a lot of lawsuits from the families of the deceased being leveled against the university soon because of that issue.

They were questioning someone at the time of the second shooting that they thought committed the first. There is no conclusive evidence at the time that the two were related. Thats the best information I have.

The University can't lock down campus everytime a violent act occurs. The available evidence was that the incident was over. If they went to full lock down every time something happened it would seriously disrupt classes. People would get sick of it and start to say the University was too cautious.

It is very easy to look back and say this is what could have prevented further deaths, but as they say hindsight is 20-20.

how often does someone get shot on campus? i mean, you make a good point, but still... this is something that rarely happens.

Good point.

Here's some data from 2001-2003. I didn't find anything more recent.

Link

Depending on where you draw the line (murder, attempted murder, assault), you could have multiple campuses shutting down every day.

Well hell, the least they could do is try and notify their student body a little sooner that a tragedy happened. I am with the swoosh man. I mean who the hell cares about one day of classes after even one person is gunned down on campus. Maybe you are use to the violence in Clifton or something.

I don't know how much you've heard about it, but we've had 2 bomb scares in the last two weeks. We had complete lockdowns for those. The police do not fool around here, nor did they take the situation lightly yesterday. As stated earlier, all evidence pointed that the suspect was most likely apprehended, and there was the 2 hour lull between the first incident and the Norris shootings. When the shooting did occur, police response was literally minutes.

Additionally, only about 9,000 students live on campus. Tech's entire student body is over 28,000+. You may be able to lock down the dorms, but you still have 19,000+ students out and about, possibly already in class or commuting to class w/ no way to find out about the situation.

They were questioning someone who they thought was the shooter in the first incident. Therefore they didnt have any reason to believe anything else was gonna happen. The 2 hour gap just added to that belief.
