Size is much better. As to my other complaint, well, I'll just stop being redundant about being redundant.

No offense, and I know we can't please everyone, but users should have the ability to opt out of those buttons.

I can personally tell you it will be an insult to any mods of mine if you assign them a mostly orange Mod button.

Secondly, if you must have them, make them transparent to blend in with the backgrounds or move away from the rectangular shape. Makes it look bad overall.

I have to say these are more low-key than the previous set.

Not that I'm complainin', but how did I go from "Water Enginer/Water Boy" to "All American" overnight?

Also......Are these levels of posting achievement or what?

That's wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much work for something small and unobtrusive. We had group badges on Invision much larger than these and nobody complained.

SCConway Wrote:I can personally tell you it will be an insult to any mods of mine if you assign them a mostly orange Mod button.

This is just irrational. Let me give you the same mindset.

I hate UGA. They're my team's big in state rival. Their colors are red and black.

The navigation must be changed. It's black.
The logo must be changed. It's red with a black border.
All the text must be changed. It's black.
All the emoticons must be changed. They have a black border or black in them.
The help icon must be changed. It has red in it.
The memberlist icon must be changed. It has red in it.
The bold/italic/underline/dropdowns/text align/youtube/code buttons above where you make a post must be changed. They contain black and/or red.
All the new group icons must be changed. The contain black and/or red.

I mean really. Should we lobby Mozilla and Microsoft to change the RSS icon? It has orange in it. Perhaps we could talk to NASA about changing the color of that pesky orange sun.

And of course if we change it from orange ... we'd have to select another color. Bet it would be somebody else's rival's color ...

SCConway Wrote:Secondly, if you must have them, make them transparent to blend in with the backgrounds or move away from the rectangular shape. Makes it look bad overall.
We might make them rounded cornered or something, but really .... take a look around... nearly the ENTIRE SITE is made out of rectanges. Making them transparent defeats the purpose of them. Then it's just boring old text. There's some inside jokes hidden in them 'thar icons.

The size is better, but they are still ugly as hell. No imagination at all in them. As for your "black and red" argument, it is just stupid and has no bearing on Memphis and our "aversion" to orange. You just don't understand, and I don't expext you too. But your argument and comparison is totally invalid. Lose the f'ing orange for mods...period. I will never shut up until it's gone, I promise.

As a Toledo Rocket fan, I have a strong distaste for anything orange, but I can live with these. And as I said privately, I WOULD have voted It made me more moist than Ralph Friedgen's undies on a 120 degree day.....but that's just creepy

The Tiger in your avatar is orange.
Your real life Tiger mascot is orange.
Your graphic Tiger mascot logos are orange.
Tony the Tiger is orange.

Your signature doesn't just contain orange.... IT CONTAINS THOUSANDS OF TENNESSEE FANS FOR WHICH IS THE REASON YOU HATE ORANGE!! It's even a picture of a game where UT blew out Memphis!! It's even a picture of a game where UT filled over 1/3 of the entire stadium at your own house!!!

I'm not an admin nor do I hate the color orange, but I do think the admin buttons with orange suck.

I still think the Department of Redundancy Association is waay too proud of these things, we have text groups, image groups, avatars, and team association stuff in there. IMHO, you should trim it down some. This is already a very good bbs. You can certainly improve on it, but sometimes subtraction is addition, and addition is subtraction.

The text immediately under your name is your user title. You can edit it when you hit 1st String or higher.

The only redundancy is that it has "Group: " further down under your name ... and that can be removed.
