Well at least one name is being discussed in the local news. Jerry Glanville, he is a surprise to me but the more I think about the idea the more excited I get. I would love to see who else has thrown their hat into the arena.

Both of them are candidates. I think i read something saying Rick was on the short list of the search. Im hoping we find a AD this week, and than hire a head coach by next week. Its almost jan and we need a coach before that because signing day is in Feb.

Here is the current talk. First an AD will be named by Monday or Tuesday. Four finalists are interviewing this weekend. Former AD Jim Paul allegedly took his name off the list so he is NOT going to be the one. I don't think he was ever in contention considering he never got a call back from NMSU about his application. Likely person for AD at this point is McKinley Boston. As for football coach word is they are down to seven people. I don't think RN is being considered, but you never know. Seems like names are popping up from Texas. Les Knoenning OC A&M, Sonny Dykes(TT), Mike Shultz(OC TCU). R.C. Slocum formerly of Texas A&M has been mentioned but I don't know if he has actually applied. Also Hal Mumme of Southwestern Louisiana. Art Valero of the Tampa Bay bucs has been mentioned. This is all speculation right now as NMSU has been very tight lipped about the whole process. NMSU has said that they had at least 30 applications as of Wednesday, but someone that seems to be in the know say's they have had over 100 inquirers into the job.

Allegedly Hal Mumme has been spotted in Las Cruces.
