Tulane almost dropped football just two years ago but the alumni and some boosters helped convince the university to keep the football program. So the program has been tettering for a while.

That's a bummer. They fought hard to keep it only to get blindsided by Katrina.

Tulane led the fight against the BCS cartel and their scam. I wonder who's going to pick up the torch to battle the cartel now?

Tulane, SMU, Rice and Houston have all looked at dropping football recently. I think Tulane can hold on, but with Tulane being a private school they likely won't qualify for much of the coveted FEMA government money.

We'll see.

If Tulane is forced drop football by economic conditions, do they stay in CUSA or have to find a new conference home? CUSA just finally became an all football league, also IMO, I don't think La Tech would be the only choice that CUSA would consider. CUSA could also consider N. Texas, NMSU, Troy St, MTSU, who knows what will happen? Heck they could even go after a MAC school, stranger things have happened.

If and that's a big IF...Tulane leaves C-USA....I want Louisiana Tech as their replacement. North Texas and the rest of the Sun Belt should not be considered. Heck....I'd rather have NMSU in C-USA 03-puke than any Sun Belt school.

Thanks UTEPDallas,

As a LaTech fan, I hope Tulane can remain in CUSA.

Thanks for supporting us, but with Tulane's delimma with Hurricane Katrina...I just hope they can overcome some of their financial issues in trying to recover. I want to be CUSA but not through someone's misfortune.

Tech for Tulane.
