While Bearcats did have everything going their way and won their game against UCONN, but UCONN also played poorly and the game could have been completely different if played at East Hartford. UCONN O played their poorest game of the year last SAT. It might have a lot to do with Cincy's D, but it was also part of our execution since quite a few UCONN OLs said they did not recognize bunch of Cincy's new defensive formations because they have not seen it on films. Therefore, blocking was screwed up and run offense was never established. UCONN D certainly played well enough to win but they got way tired in the 4th quarter.

Cincy also lost to UL and Pitt, both teams UCONN beat. Saying Cincy is above UCONN or USF because all the right things happened is wrong because Cincy also lost to teams other BE teams have beat. If Cincy was so good, they should have won against UL and Pitt.

Bottom line is UCONN is still leading the BE until we lose another game. WVU controls their own destiny if they win out. If UCONN beats Syracuse and loses to WVU, we would be 5-2. If Cincy wins out, they would tie with UCONN. WVU has a chance to win out and win the BE. If WVU wins out, UCONN would finish 2nd in the BE. BTW, I fully expect WVU to win out and UCONN to beat the CUSE. Can Cincy upset WVU? Yes but I suspect the speed of WVU (White/Slaton) will give Cincy D plenty of problems.

The race is not over and a lot of things could still happen.

UC got screwed at Pitt and did not play real well but good enough to win. UC turned the ball over in the 4th quarter against UL or they could easily be 10-0. UC has won most of their games by very large margins which is a good sign. THe USF could have been won by at least three touchdowns with out a few coaching mistakes.

Everyone in the league could be undefeated if they had only scored more points in each of their losses.

Its nice to think that the Cuse could be undefeated right now if we could just solve that one, small problem.

going with your logic (and you are right) their is just one Tier and all Big East teams are in it since I think any team in the conference can beat any team in the conference (see USF over WVA, Pitt over UC, Cuse over Ville etc.).

winner...winnner...winner

As we have all proven every school outside of Syracuse can beat each other on any given day.

IMO, WVU was the class of the league going into the season and has been the most consistent.

USF has been the most inconsistent.
UCONN has been the most opportunistic.
UC is still finding its personality under Brian Kelly.
Rutgers never seemed to develop a personality as well...

UC beat Uconn, USF and Rutgers. They won two of those games on the road and dominated the other. UC is the deserved number 2 right now.

I gues you are ignoring your loses to Louisville and Pitt. Two teams that UConn handled.
UC is playing well right now and deserve to be #2 but dont think that they could win all three if they had to play again.

I don't know what losing to Pitt and Louisville and UConn beating them have to do with anything considering UC beat UConn head-to-head. As for UC not being able to win all three if they played again, UC is 6-0 vs those teams the last 2 years so I would love to know basis for the comment that UC couldn't win all three of those games again. We lost to Louisville and Pitt last year two so I'm baffled. But remember that comment you made about UC next time you get into an argument with an West Virginia fan that tells you that USF would get slaughtered in a rematch despite the fact USF has beaten them the last 2 years and UCF and other fans saying you're not that good because you struggled against Florida Atlantic and Elon. Because you're applying that same logic to Cincinnati.

So, using your logic, Oklahoma isn't that good because they lost to Colorado. And LSU isn't that good because they lost to Kentucky. And Ohio State isn't that good because they lost to Illinois. So UC is a bad team because they lost to Louisville and Pitt. Cincinnati is rated ahead of South Florida and Connecticut not just because they beat them head-to-head but because Cincinnati also ranked ahead of them. I just find it amazing now that UC has won some more games people are coming out of the woodworks saying Cincinnati isn't a good team because they lost to Pitt and Louisville. But I'll use your logic. If Connecticut is so good they should have beaten Cincinnati. I'm using your logic. And don't use the excuse that it would have been different in Hartford because if Connecticut is so good they would have beaten a good team on the road. Rutgers and South Florida had Cincinnati painted as revenge games at home so Cincinnati is no pushover on the road. Cincinnati has a bad loss at Pitt, but they also have good wins at South Florida and Rutgers. I want Connecticut and South Florida fans to remember that when they're claiming Cincinnati isn't a good team because we lost to Pitt and Louisville. Good teams shouldn't lose to those teams you say, but good teams find a way to rebound from those losses. And please don't turn this argument back in on me like I'm ripping your programs because I have been one of the BIGGEST defenders of USF and UConn. Just venting and defending my Bearcats! :)

Why are you baffled regarding losses to Louisville? After 5 straight losses and 9 in 10 years, I think we can call it a trend! 02-13-banana

You are living in a fantasy world if you think UConn is anywhere close to UC's level.

Actually I was saying that UC lost to Pitt and Louisville last year so I'm baffled why people are claiming we're a bad team for losing to them this year. On a side note, you better hope that Louisville losing like they're losing THIS year isn't a trend! Because if that Louisville trend continues trying to beat Cincinnati might be the only thing to dance to! Heck, Louisville has a "trend" of beating Kentucky and Cincinnati the last few years yet I bet you would kill to be in our position right now! 02-13-banana So you can enjoy the trend, we'll enjoy the rankings! 03-wink

I find it ironic that Cubanbull and SF Husky are saying that Cincinnati isn't a good team because we lost to Pitt and Louisville. In SF Husky's case he's bragging about UConn beating Pitt and Louisville. Yet he forgets the heat UConn gets for games they "should" have lost to Temple and Louisville. I think they were fine wins yet he has no qualms about calling Cincinnati a bad team for losing to Pitt and Louisville even though Cincinnati pounded Connecticut. And having the game in Connecticut would not have been a guarantee for success because Cincinnati is 2-0 vs ranked teams on the road.

The biggest irony is CubanBull suddenly saying that Cincinnati couldn't beat Rutgers, South Florida and Connecticut in rematches this year. Yet he would be the first one throwing a fit if someone said that there was no way that South Florida could beat Auburn and West Virginia in a rematch and that those wins are "flukes" which is kind of what he's saying UC's wins were.
