BIG EAST should have 3 ranked teams today
That is pretty good to see three teams ranked at this time of year given the fact that both Rutgers and UL are not having the years that a lot people thought. Good to see Cincy, WVU, and UCONN represent the BIG EAST. Just keep on winning, and I am hoping that USF can get back into that top 25 in the next couple of weeks. Having 4 top 25 teams at seasons end would be great for the BIG EAST.

Yes, WVU, UC and UConn should all be ranked. Pluse USF should be getting some votes as well. It's not quite as good as last year for the BEast, but good none-the-less.

I figure UC and UConn around #20, give or take a few. WVU will either move up a spot, or Missouri will jump us when Big 12 coaches inflate UM's ranking to make the game against Kansas get more attention and help the Big 12's SOS. Big conferences, like the SEC, Big 12, and Big 10 can do that. The BEast can't. 8 votes don't swing the results very far at all.

I'm not going to worry about polls. The final one is the one that matters. 07-coffee3

Which is exactly why the Big East should add a 9th team.

RE: BIG EAST should have 3 ranked teams today
The Big East got three teams into the AP Poll (which does not count for BCS purposes) but the Coaches Poll (which does count for BCS purposes) decided to simply replace Connecticut with Cincinnati.

Illinois and Wisconsin knocked Auburn and Alabama out of both polls. At least we did not have to suffer the indignity of seeing a pair of four-loss SEC teams retaining undeserved positions in the rankings.

Connecticut made it into the AP Poll while Penn State was left out, the opposite of the Coaches Poll, interestingly. That is an idea that no one could have fathomed, most factors equal, based on tradition.

Not really, b/c the polls are a popularity contest to a certain degree. Auburn has 4 losses yet they are on the cusp of being ranked again if they win their last two games. USF on the other hand has spent the majority ofthe season in the Top 25 and lost three tight games to conference rivals that went on to get ranked after beating USF. Yet USF will be lucky to sniff the top 25 in the final polls, even if we win out.

Of course it doesn't help that our fellow conference coaches continue to screw each other and as a result the conference. USF, UC and UCONN have all been hurt by conference coaches that don't vote for each other, like the homer SEC & ACC coaches do for each other.

RE: BIG EAST should have 3 ranked teams today
The Big East did indeed end up with three teams ranked in the BCS Poll - the one that counts above all - as West Virginia is 6th, Cincinnati is 22nd, and Connecticut is 24th. The Huskies made it in at the expense of Penn State.

Looking ahead, however, the Bearcats would probably drop out if they lose to West Virginia next week. Michigan (21st) and Kentucky (23rd) would probably suffer the same fate if they lose to Ohio State and Georgia on Saturday.

I suppose USF could work their way back in with a win over Louisville while Penn State and BYU are, with victories over Michigan State and Wyoming, both poised to benefit from any potential losses at the lower end of the polls.
