RE: Big East average attendance #'s
Is this an overall improvement from the last two years in attendence?? The bandwagon effect has really helped USF in the attendence area. Hopefully, USF gainned new fans for life after that crazy 6-0 hype start. Also, I would not mind seeing some of the BIG EAST schools start expanding their stadiums in the near future. Cincy, UConn, UL, and Rutgers should be already or at least thinking about that in the near future. I know Rutgers is going through with their, and I am not too sure about how UL's expansion plans are going right now. As long a CINCY and UCONN keep winning they are going to need to expand those stadiums also.

UL is still going through their stadium expansion to 63K. RU is going to 55K and it is approved. UCONN will probably get our season ticket base to about 36K after this year, which should be close to capacity of 40K since we definitely will have a great team next year. No plan to expand the stadium yet but I don't see why we won't go to 50K in the next 5 years.

Cincinnati is a young team, and we should have a great team next year, and a strong team the next few years without a doubt, so expansion is being looked into. UC is looking into expanding to somewhere in the neighborhood of at least 40,000 to 45,000 seats.

Huh?

when you win your first 6 games and that includes beating Auburn on the road, #5 West Virginia (again), and kick the living crap out of the whiny wannabe rival in Orlando ....its not hype but rather legitimate interest.

Remember this team is 11 points and some very questionable calls from being 10-0. It's also a team being led on both sides of the ball by crazy good sophomores.

Hype?

Not really....

Unfortunately Cincinnati had a few fans that did the same thing. After UC lost to Pitt and Louisville there were a few fans coming out of the woodworks saying that UC was overhyped, overrated, hadn't beaten anybody, etc. Of course the last few weeks as silenced them but, it looks like USF is having to deal with those fans.

UC needs to sign BK to long term deal with HUGE buyout to scare away the vultures and then expand Nippert, put in luxury boxes, and build the man his indoor practice facility...I really think with him at UC we have a shot at BCS games and national power.....

Kelly already has a decent deal with a good buyout. I wouldn't mind seeing an extension and a raise after next year if we have another good season. $2 million buyout if he leaves after this season, and decreasing as the years on the contract shorten. Plans are in the works for a temporary indoor facility, a bubble over the current field much like BC uses.

I've seen the "temporary bubble" idea......where is the permanent one going to go? Have you heard any ideas on this?

RE: Big East average attendance #'s
CyberBull,

I didnt mean to state that USF was all hype. I was just stating that the media gave USF a lot good hype to help get the bandwagon going. The win at Auburn was huge in getting this bandwagon started. We didnt have the big crowd for the UNC game after we beat Auburn, but the following game against WVU was what really got the bandwagon going. USF deserved that #2 BCS spot based on beating both Auburn and WVU at the time, so there should not being any disputing those facts. USF may have lost those three games in a row, but I bet that we picked up some new fans that will stick with the program. It takes time to build a true fan base up that will stick with you through the bad times, but I believe USF is well on its way.

CatsClaw,

You are right in that USF fans all of sudden noticed a lot of hate from UF, FSU, and Miami fans while we were in the spotlight. They were pretty much supportive of USF before we got the attention then they got worried about USF because of all the media attention. It was a funny thing to see how they changed their tune about USF just because we started winning and getting national respect.

While some have jumped off the bandwagon. I think the 57k tickets sold for UC and the similar number expected for the Louisville games tells me that we have gotten more fans to stay supporting the Bulls.
The 52k avg will be our highest ever by a long shot

I expect barring a melt down next year.. U will stay over 40k average... as for the 11 points.. that is true for many teams.. U also are only 13 points from being 5-5
