What is up w/ Nelly?

http://www.amazon.com/Brass-Knuckles-Nel...093&sr=8-1

I had seen some GARBAGE song at Best Buy a while back w/ Fergie...

IN Best Buy today to get the new Metallica (and LL Cool J... so far so good 05-stirthepot ) I saw there was another video playing in the store... looked to feature Jermain Dupree and it appeared to be a "shoe song" about Air Jordans! ...Like he and Dupree... had a trophy case of all the styles and colors of the Jordans that have come out. Not sure of title though...

I mean come on.. Air Force Ones.... now some song about Air Jordans....

I'll get this cd...but .... this disc is looking suspect....

it's gonna be trash. he's lost all his ability to make entertaining pop/rap. The funny thing is, i recently went back and revisited some of his old songs that i used to love and i found that i don't really like them anymore. His music has definitely not stood the test of time.

Ya know swoosh...

I've been listening to a lot of old Nelly/St Lunatics lately...still like his old stuff....but.... the two new songs I have heard.... 03-puke ...

and what I REALLY CAN'T Believe is that Chuck D would be a guest MC on this. 04-jawdrop

...CHUCK D!

i'm talking about songs like air force one's and country grammar. Songs i used to absolutely love, but now i can barely listen to them

Sad RE: Nelly: Brass Knuckles
03-weeping it ended up as I suspected...

it had some decent beats... and actually more good songs than I thought...but.... the crappy ones exude crappiness. Some songs are pretty good...but then he gets into too much "Suit" mode...and then it falls off.

RE: Nelly: Brass Knuckles
A breif synopsis

U Aint Him:
a funky r&b tune... not too bad for intro track

Hold Up:
A pretty sweet "Dirty South" beat... decent rhymes

La:
A smoothed out G-FUnk beat about chillin' on the West Coast ..has Snoop guesting... cool slowjam...

Long Night:
I like the music for the most part...but overall the rapping is kind of week

Lie:
Folks that like mellow r&b rap tunes will probabbly like the music .... its a he/she said song.... and the chorus kind of ruins it.... sound like something off of Suit!

Party People:
f/ Fergie, honestly...now that I heard the song I like it...another Nelly Club Banger.... like the song better than the video I saw earlier. Pretty good. good thing Fergie doesn't ruin it.

Self Esteem:
70's era soul beat. a nice "political / topical" song.... Chuck D actually fits this songs message. Ok for what it is...but not really a "Nelly" song.

Body on Me:
Another R&B slow jam .... some will like.... I do not ...

Steppin on my J'z:
f/ Jermaine Dupri .... OK, I really like this song....BUT its lone detractor is the fact that Nelly has already done Air Force One's. 2 Shoe songs? C'mon Nelly.... Nice "dirty south" beat to it.

Let it Go Lil' Mama:
A very quirky and funky beat.... reminds me of Jay Z's "Dirt off Ya Shoulder " song in a way..... The rap to it though...really lessens what could have been a cool beat for a song that was rhymed to differently.

One and Only:
...meh...another slow jam w/ slow R&B.... not my thing.... a love song..

Chill:
Up tempo beat.... that is ok....but the rapping to it is not there...

Who F*'s Wit Me:
A slow r&b beat.... guitar driven.... not a bad beat.... but the rhymes don't do it for me....

Ucud Gedit:
F/ Young Jeezy ...awesome bass line in this.... rhymes are ok... but.... it sounds like a song from a Young Jeezy cd vs. a Nelly cd w/ Jeezy as a guest.

Hmmm

out of 5*s

2*s

It has some good tunes.... but too much slow R&B and wack rhymes really dock it down IMO... a Nelly fan will like it....but a more "core" Nelly fan.... will enjoy hte better songs and dislike all the slow jam stuff....
