I saw Dark Knight on Saturday night -- my thoughts:

1) The Joker's role was both well-written and well played. Simply amazing.

2) I didn't expect to see Two-Face in this movie. Initially, I was thinking his appearance would have been best served for the next movie, but after some though, it made sense here.

3) There was some absolutely fine acting in this movie.

YUP, it was dogs... after Bruce's encounter with some.

Holy Jeebus! The Joker lived up to the hype and made the rest of movie look silly. Not really, but good *** **** I was soo frightened by him. Heath (whom I only assume played they Joker, I honestly couldn't tell), made the Joker so convincing and real. That's what this movie is about. You almost want him to succeed cause he's so awesome, well I secretly wanted him to.

So since this movie is so well regarded, here's my complaints (oh and I loved it):


The cons:

- Christian Bale was still convincing as Batman/Bruce Wayne, but that Batman voice is very over the top. He didn't sound like that in Begins, did he?
- I love her to death and high high hopes for Maggie Gyllenhaal's verision of Rachal Dawes, but she came off as a whiny tramp. I can't believe I'm saying that I liked Katie Holmes more. I'm sure upon seeing the film again I'll change my mind.
- Dude, Scarecrow? WTF? What happened to him?
- a bit too long, even though I don't mind three hour movies.
- wanted more Cillian Murphy.
- another film? I hope two face is still alive and the Joker kills himself in prison (nobody is gonna be able to be the Joker again). And I hope the Scarecrow comes back. Didn't leave much open for another.

i agree with all those complaints. I thought katie holmes was definitely better.

It sucks cause I love Maggie and hate Katie.

i don't know anything about either. I had never heard of maggie gyllenhaal before this movie. I also find her much less attractive than katie holmes. Those bassett hound eyes don't do it for me

Ahh man. Maggie looks far better than Katie. She appears whimsy and intelligent, whereas Katie is just attractive and dull. Maggie is also far far far more talented. Off the top of my head Stranger than Fiction, Donnie Darko and that's all I can recall. Her character just seemed to be always in a hurry. I take it back. Thinking about "Begins" Katie Holmes is phony and a ****** actress. I'll take Maggie's portrayal of Rachel Dawes, even though it could have been better.

To each his own. While I still think Maggie is more attractive, her acting makes her way more appealing. I'm not great at metaphors so I won't make one. She's a pretty face whom probably only got a gig cause she could utter, "yes."

another guy who saw it said it was actualy distracting. Maggie is not attractive...atleast in Batman.

i wouldn't know how she looks in other movies, but in this she looks like an old dog
