they need to ban him from the radio and tv. all he does is trash folks but you know he would never have the nuts to say it to any of their faces.

while he does bring up some issues worth noting, and sometimes those issues deserve the commentary he brings, i really don't like listening to the guy. all he wants is for someone to bring up his name, pro or con, so you are talking about what he said.

Frankly, I think everyone at ESPN is responsible for the deterioration of sports reporting. Jim Rome is just one of 'em. Nobody really does news any longer. It's all opinion about who's better than whom. One guy writes the story at every game, and the news services grab 'em and run 'em as their own. I always thought that was plagerism. I also remember when you could easily find a number of articles about every game. Now, the only games you see a ton of stories on are games involving the 'name' schools, or those with alums on TV. The days upcoming games are even totally ignored in favor of a match these cheerleaders for their alma maters prefer to talk about instead of games that are about to be played.

I'm finding the best reporting being done by some fans these days. Some of 'em understand how to report games far better than those who get paid for it...
