The ceremony was good, but I stil find the irony that the nation is still run by iron rule. I thought it was funny how Costas and Lauer were always talking about how incredible it was to get all the performers to work together. Apparently they've never seen a North Korean performance. Granted, China is a more open soceity, but there's still that underlying sense of just one big illusion.

I agree. China needs to be free. Free Tibet? **** that, Free ALL of China. Hell, the USSR could host an AWESOME military show. We should be impressed? While their people were starving? All for the strength of "Mother Russia"? **** that. There's no damn reason we should have such close ties with China. ...and if we do, why do we not have ties with Cuba? Where's the difference? Why the hypocrisy?
