conference loyalty
What is the deal with this crap?

I hate every team in the ACC except for Maryland. It makes me happy that every other team is worthless because I hate them all.

Ill make an exception for Wake, I dont have anything against them and I usually root for them when they arent playing Maryland. But the rest of them I really enjoy seeing them lose.

It directly effects the ability of your team to go to the Championship game you n00b. Not to mention Maryland's slice of the ACC fiscal pie.

I pull for SEC teams over ANY OOC team. ....if if it sometimes pains me to do so. Team, Conference, Region. That's how I roll, baby.

My sports life is probably fueled by hatred more so than love, it aint my fault all the teams in the conference are impossible to root for.

Also we are horrible so we have no chance at making the BCS championship game anyways.

Further, Id argue that if we were to go undefeated it wouldnt matter what the other ACC teams did we would almost certainly be in anyways.

Conference loyalty is just contrived and stupid. I dont root for Mexico and Canada in the Olympics just because we are all on the same continent and I sure as hell aint going to root for the Dallas Cowboys or the NY Giants because they play in the conference as the Redskins.

I never understood the absolute conference loyalty thing either. There's no way in hell that I would ever pull for the Sooners or the Aggies in a bowl game. Screw that.

I will say that on the other hand, too much hatred amongst schools persisted in the old SWC(especially against my school). That hatred and envy eventually led to a downfall of a great conference.

Same here, but I'd change #4 to "the possibility of um and nd to both lose today (or osu and usc to both lose tonight).
