Cool programs for a Mac? (or just in general)
I just got a new MacBook for work. I was just wondering if y'all knew of any cool programs for Macs, or just cool programs in general.

I go through this phase whenever I get a new computer where I feel like trying out new programs.

I'll need a better IM client than iChat, I don't like having separate buddy lists for each protocol. I had Pidgin on my PC, anyone have a suggestion?

Well, I had downloaded Adium. . . But I need video chat support for work (I didn't see that with Adium, maybe I missed it.)

I'm going to take a long look at this list. . .

But, everyone else feel free to keep recommending items.

Ask, and you shall receive... Video Chat Apps for Mac

I can't give you reviews on any of these, except iChat, which has always worked great for video conferencing for me.

Make sure you turn on spaces and expose. it's good for juggling windows and such. (picture shows the 4 windows and you can drag between)

I like transmission for bittorrent stuff. (upper right)
VLC for video. videolan.org
Adium for IM, but no video i guess. It's just small and lightweight which i like (upper left in pic).

Shades is kind of neat, when you are in a dark room the lowest 'brightness' is sometimes too bright. With shades you can make it darker or another color and such. http://www.charcoaldesign.co.uk/shades

other than that my install is pretty much empty.

Thanks. I run spaces with Parallels (Windows) open in one of 'em. Handbrake for ripping video. Quicksilver for fast searches.
