Can you seriously look me in the eye and say that you see nothing wrong with a "conference" that has a completely different set of teams compete in football than what competes in basketball? Its a joke. Get that garbage out of here go play D III

mlb Wrote:Okay, let's do that GTS.

First of all, of the "big 6", the PAC10 is 6th. ACC 2nd, Big East 5th.

Now, lets go review his numbers for the past 3 years (including this year).

2007 - Big East 4th, ACC 5th.
2006 - Big East 2nd, ACC 4th.

Average for Big East = 3.67
Average for ACC = 3.67

ACC is certainly head and shoulders better than the Big East... 01-wingedeagle

The Big East has finished ahead of the ACC 2 of the last 3 years...

BCS bowl games... head to head during that time, BE wins (Louisville over Wake Forest). West Virginia is 2-0 during that time with wins over Oklahoma and Georgia. Overall BCS record is 3-0 during that time frame.

ACC record during that time, 0-3. ACC's record in BCS games since the inception, 1-9, Big East 6-4.

So keep talking all you want about the Big East being mid-major, but remember you just cause your own conference to look worse thanks to the association.

Who exactly is not a major?

As I said above, if the Big East is not major, then neither is the ACC.

You better bring in past years to make your point. The ACC has purged itself of crappy head coaches (Ted Roof, Chan Gailey, Chuck Amato, Tommy Bowden, Larry Coker) and the benefits are beginning to show. We're getting better in a hurry.

You're getting worse in a hurry due to head coach raids.

Doesn't bother me... and it isn't a completely different set of teams. It is additional teams to the football teams.

In all honesty, most of the basketball talent is on the football side things anyway. Louisville, UConn, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Cincy are all historically top 25 programs (most programs have UL, UConn, Syracuse and Cincy in or around the top 10 all time). If you take the football side of things you have 6 of 8 absolute top level teams.

The basketball side brings Georgetown, Villanova, and Marquette.

I really don't understand why you dislike it so much... in terms of fun games to watch, every night brings you another good game in the Big East. The ACC will be the haves and have nots... unfortunately only a couple haves, and a whole bunch of have nots.

You may be right... time will tell. I will say, however, that nationally this year, even with your number 2 sagarin you are not held in higher regard than the Big East.

Apparently most of America does... considering the latest TV package deal that ESPN signed the Big East.

Good luck this year.

LOL... Cincinnati hasn't been relevant for 3 years. This year they begin to turn the corner after the program was basically destroyed by the school President. They have a great young coach who has been recruiting great over the last several years. They will be very talented, but very young.

In the mean time Maryland will once again not do a damn thing... you guys built a new airplane hanger for your basketball team, you just forgot to move the team over from the old building. Time for you guys to retire Gary Williams...

You certainly have some sort of hang up about Cincinnati basketball.

It's not about Cinci. Terpy is the definition of why the BCS sucks. He is arrogant and ignorant. He has a hard on to diss all of the non-BCS conferences and for some reason, he includes the Big East in that group. Think typical turtle fan, and there you have Terpy. Hey Terpy, Friedgen is hungry, get him two of everything on Burger King's menu.

I'm guessing that he does this thanks to his conference being the least competitive in BCS bowl games over the years... he has to knock someone down in order to make himself feel better about his own conference.

How the hell is the MAC > The Big East? ....and please don't tell me because that weakass Ball State is ranked higher than Pitt or Cincy. Pitt and Cincy actually PLAY tough teams.

Ball State will probably go undefeated, and there will be a TON of talk for them to be in a BCS game, and you know what's going to happpen?

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=280010061

....but worse. Hawaii actually plays teams like Boise State.

Ball State would beat any of those craptastic big east teams as would Central Michigan.

But I stand by my previous comment. Just watch Cincy lose to the Louisville Sluggers tonight.

Ball State and Cental Michigan are both strong teams.

I like to pick on mid majors (aka Big East) but the MAC has a couple of really good football teams every year that always seem to be overlooked in favor of the WAC and Big West teams.

And Im sorry if it looks like im picking at Cincinnatti its really just a coincidence nothing personal against you.

Since CMU is so good, and the MAC is so good, why do coaches leave the CMU to come to UC?

Ball State has played nobody...

Sorry if I think you are full of crap.
