Americana
Anyone else here into Americana/Alt Country?

I started to get into it about a year or so ago. Its really great music. So much better than your mainstream pop country type music. I got hooked listening to X Country on XM unfortunately X Country got the axe in the merger with sirius and was replaced with the inferior outlaw country from sirius. I guess Im kind rambling now but anyways, good stuff.

RE: Americana
I like it very much. However, there seemed to be a flood of it over the past year or so. Seemed like every Paste sampler had 3 or 4 alt.country newer acts that just sounded like impostors. I suppose it happens with any popular genre, just makes it harder to sift through for the good stuff.

Any particular bands/musicians you like?

For whatever reason, this thread reminds me of the soundtrack for the Rookie. A great sampling of country/alt.country/roots, etc.
