Perhaps, but...

If UNC (now 7-3) got to stay in the polls losing to unranked Maryland and unranked Maryland (now 7-3) got into the polls by beating #16 UNC, then neither Pitt nor Cincinnati should drop out of the polls entirely by losing to a Top 20 opponent and having their record go to 7-3 or 8-3.

Besides, Maryland is at home at FSU, BC plays @ Wake Forest, Miami is @ GT, and UNC is home to NC State - so they will be beating each other up as well, meaning only three of them are going to be in the polls next week as well - just as this week.

Cheers,
Neil

Neil, don't expect just logic from pollsters, who are more motivated by other factors...

I tend to agree with the philosophy that polling in the first couple of months can see more fluctuation than polling in the last month - mid-November to final BCS standings. By this time of year, even with the bias, we can usually predict the majority of the polls.

This year's trend seems to be no 2-loss BE team will be behind a 3-loss ACC team and no 3-loss BE team will be behind a 4-loss ACC team.

Cheers,
Neil

RE: updated polls
The pollsters sure do love LSU, a three loss team who has given up fifty points twice this season and was losing to Troy 31-3 late in the third quarter at home before rallying.

RE: updated polls
And they actually move up the polls as well terry. They considered LSU struggling to rally from a 28 point deficit, at home, to Troy to be more impressive then Cincinnati winning at Louisville. Pathetic.
