why the hell didn't they go to the replay on that "fumble?" Isn't the point of replay to make sure the refs got the important calls correct? Well, i don't think they made the correct call. i really thought it was an incomplete pass. In fact everyone I watched the game with, thought so too. How can they not review that?

I thought it was clearly a fumble.

There's no way "clearly" comes into it. I thought his arm was starting to move forward. Did they really not have the time to review the play? It might have even let them get in an extra commercial or two...

he continued to control the ball while pushing it forward. There is no way that it "was clearly a fumble."

how did i know you'd think otherwise?

RE: So nobody's gonna say it?
His arm was back, the ball was hit, he did not have control of the ball when his arm started forward. They reviewed it. Clearly a fumble. Play ball. Now, during Harrison's interception at the end of the first half, I saw two blocks in the back and a BLATANT hold. The refs sucked.03-banghead

He was hit before his arm moved forward. The ball wasn't in his hand when it came forward. He was pushing the ball, but he didn't have control. Look at the replay again in slow motion. You'll see that his hand was behind the ball and not grabbing it. It does appear to be in his control, until you look closely...

Either way, I don't believe they could review that play in the time they had before the knee was taken by Pittsburgh. They should have stopped and reviewed the play as far as I'm concerned.

do you have to have complete control of the ball for it to be considered a pass? What if a QB wasn't being chased by anyone and he lost control of the ball while pushing it forward? Would it be considered a pass or a fumble?

They still should've sent the ref under the hood to check the replay. It's the super bowl for crying out loud.

I agree it should have been reviewed but it wasnt going to be overturned. His arm was moving forward but the ball wasnt in his hand. This isnt volleyball you kind of have to have the ball in your hand to execute a forward pass.

And yeah I think the officiating was ridiculously biased against Arizona.

Kurt Warner is among the best QBs ever to play the game but he is and always has been fumble prone.

I didnt think so either. Anyone who doesn't think that the Steelers were going to win that game come hell or high water is delusional.
