His delivery is not consistent and his footwork needs to improve, but that should never be a deciding factor when it comes to evaluating a high school QB. The biggest thing that Watkins has going for him is that the he plays with a perfect pace. He is never flustered, he rarely losses focus under pressure and he is almost always in control of the play. I do not get that impression with Hendrix, it's almost like the game is moving to fast for him, and that is never a reassuring sign for any QB.

I couldn't have summed up the two any better. Hendrix seems a lot less composed and much more jittery in and out of the pocket.

RE: Caleb Watkins
Unfortunately the one game i saw caleb watkins play.. he was nowhere near as good as spencer ware as a quarterback.. I realize my 1 game trial for each is only 1 game.. but i was more impressed by ware.. but watkins is definately a special talent from EVERYONE i have talked to.. just because he has 1 bad game.. doesnt mean he will be terrible.. When i saw richard hall at rb for wyoming, or zwick at qb for versailles, in ohio state playoffs.. they were lights out.. by those games i would have said they were gonna be GREAT.. but both were mediocre at best.. Hall ended up being a big contributor to UC his senior year.. but way below what i expected based on the games I had seen.. zwick was about bellisari number 2 up at O$U except other qbs were there to actually play..

dont go on just one game.. but everything i have heard says watkins will be special..

Not sure but I heard he ran really well at camp and was actually one of the fastest players there. I think UC has a lot of interest in him and an offer could be coming very soon.

Also, someone else told me UC offered Elder DE Pete Bachman last night. No idea if that is reliable or not. It wouldn't surprise me though. He is super athletic for someone of his size and frame.

Bachman could potentially grow into a TE or OT as well. He's about 6'6 240-245 lbs, runs well and has the frame to add a ton of weight. He could play almost anywhere on either side of the line of scrimmage in college in my opinion.

I think UC has a very good chance with Black. I think Michigan is the biggest competition for him right now. He is UC's absolute highest priority on that side of the ball.

Anyone know what happened to Caleb at BGSU..? I watched their game vs. FL this week and didnt see him and out of curiosity checked the roster and he isnt listed.

I watched the Notre Dame game earlier... I saw Hendrix come in for mop up duty vs. Navy. He finished 4 of 5 passing for 53 yeards and also got some PT last year...

Unless I am missing something (like he can't be listed on the roster as a transfer this year); he is not on the Sycamore's roster: http://www.gosycamores.com/SportSelect.d...PSID=65230

I know Caleb personally, He did transfer to Indiana State, but isnt there any longer. He thought about playing at the Mount but decided to wait it out and enroll in the spring under scholarship somewhere else (FCS). I have heard Murray State but dont know for sure.

RE: Caleb Watkins
I was unaware that Andrew Hendrix had left Notre Dame as a graduate transfer and is now a Miami Redhawk:

Quote: Hendrix has been buried on the Notre Dame depth chart his entire career, whether it was behind Tommy Rees or Everett Golson, and there was no way he'd see the field as a senior, with Golson back from suspension and the touted Malik Zaire pushing him. So Hendrix made a practical graduate transfer move to the RedHawks, following Fighting Irish offensive coordinator Chuck Martin, who's now the head coach in Oxford. After losing the solid Zac Dysert following the 2012 season, the Miami passing offense plummeted from 22nd nationally to 121st. Needless to say, it shouldn't be difficult for Hendrix to win the job, especially given that, despite being a newcomer, he's the only one familiar with the offense. Getting playing time is one thing, though; actually leading the RedHawks to success is another. They finished 0-12 last year, as one of only two teams that couldn't even average 10 points per game.
